Fair point about the location being always the same but it is quite hard to organise a meet somewhere where I don't know.

I am quite happy for someone else to say - hey lets meet near me and organise it all but no one does!

So in the mean time for someone else to come forward and organise a meet somewhere else I thought I would arrange another get together but it will have to be somewhere I know.

Julia :D

Well said, what's wrong with having smaller local meets then a couple of big meets each year where all the local groups can meet up together??????

Yeah its just less stressful! Why is it necessary to spend half the day travelling when u could be spending it chatting and having a laugh? And as for changing the location so newbies can't be involved, we were newbies and we joined the Swindon lot, so our job is to recruit more newbies in the area :D It's not some sort of exclusive club or anything, it's not like we meet secretly and have a handshake!!

You don't? :(

Get that sorted!
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

 let it be like that....... but i know alot of people who aint vocal about how they feel it being very cliquey...... ie go to all the meets even if they are a 200 mile round trip all i'm suggestin is holding it more centrally instead of right on your doorstep

but thats not what the clique wants is it :D
MMMMmmmmmm V-TEC u gotta love it :)

If you want to think its a clique thats your problem Erm. I notice you weren't too bothered about travelling all the way to Swindon when you were "seeing" Chloe?
What people should understand is that the term "meet" should not be misinterpreted. Those of us from this area, myself, Cappy, Riss, Paul, Aimee, Tony (and I include Julia and Michelle as well even though they come from further away) do not "meet" up and stand around our cars and talk about mods and lowering and fire-belching exhausts. So in that sense its not a "meet" in that sense of the word. It is more a gathering of a group of friends who happen to live in a particular area, that have met thru the forum. It is not a "car-club" meet or a "cruise" or anything like that. And you know that because you've been down this neck of the woods yourself several times.
So whats the problem? There are at least two meets a year (organised by Julia) that are "official meets" for the newbies and those people who are willing to travel. Although our Swindon gatherings are posted up on here and anyone is very welcome to attend. But why should we go further afield when a group of us live in this area? Doesn't make sense.
You organised the Bluewater meet last weekend and that was mainly for the people from Essex/Kent/London...didn't hear any of us from the Swindon area chimping on about how unfair it was did you? And the same would go if anyone organised anything in the Manchester/Newcastle/ Scotland area. If you can't make whats been organised theres a simple solution...get off your arse and organise something closer to home. And this last line is aimed at those you say "are not vocal" enough. Not sure who they are but if you don't fancy the trip to Swindon, arrange something yourselves. Those who want to come will be there I'm sure.
Now what happened to this Leeds thing MattB cus thats one I'm definitely still up for!!

Grow up Erm. Its posted here cus people can read it here. Its not a case of picking on you because you're young. Its a case of replying to your stupid statements. Why do you hang around here if you think people are picking on you? Thought you didn't care what people thought...?
