I would have to drive them all, but my current list would be:

Beetle V5
Pug 206 GTI :D
Cooper S :?
Type R :x
Astra GSI. :yuck:

Think I would save myself some money and get a 106 GTI, Renault clio cup or a Saxo VTS. But at this sort of money I would also look at a Fiat Stilio Abarth, Seat Leon cupra R and a Xsara VTS.

Cooper S's are great!
106 GTi are equally fantastic, although they are now a bit dated and are no longer being made
A guy at work has the Clio 172 Sport and it looks great on the outside, goes pretty well but the dash is not too good IMHO.
The Clio Cup is scary - no ABS, power steering, traction control etc. Defeintely a proper drivers car!

A Pug 206 GTi 180 with a Type R engine would be fun thou ;)

The saxo is also finished :( . I guess I would wait for the replacement -C2 VTS. Thinking about it I would probably forget the SEAT, FIAT, Xsara VTS and Astra GSI as I would imagine they will depreciate very rapidly.

ere we go Erm you need to chill out a bitt and come down of your high horse.
If u want it to be a dig at u then it can be . How it is meant is that I have to work hard to get a car and it has to be a realistic car, not all these super import cars. :D

Hey you forgot the Toyota Corolla T Sport ;)

Similar engine to Civic type-R but with a bit more refinement eg air con. Worth a test drive, I had a go in one after looking at an MR2 and ended up buying the Corolla. It's fantastic fun leaving unsuspecting boy racers standing :D
My mate has a Corolla T Sport, and it is very quick, but looks so 'normal'. Now that is cool. 8)
I've also seen a Yaris with the T Sport badging, this can't have the same engine as the Corolla/Celica can it?
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

I had a Xsara VTS before my CC. My mates thought I was nuts buying such a boring looking car. I let one have a drive one day. He couldn’t even get it off the drive due to the brakes being so sensitive and gave up saying it was ridiculous. The low down torque was like a train and the power was linear through the rev range. It just increased power with revs. No high or low spots.

Not many people tried to race me as it just didn’t look the part, but when I felt like it I could gracefully overtake b-racers with the family comfortably in the back. And without the engine whizzing past 5000rpm they where unaware what speed we were doing.

The 206 GTI has similar performance, but makes too much fuss about it.
