Anyone else notice exceptionally loud tyre squeal when driving at low speed with a fair degree of lock on e.g. in car parks
Everyone stares expecting me to come round the corner doing about 40mph and cos I am driving so slowly to avoid it happening, bumble round at about 3mph!
I have noticed this on other 206s (not cc's ) in car parks as well....Any thoughts

Yep it happens with most tyres in the heat, especially wider, softer ones like the CC.
Nothing to worry about!
I think the technical reason is that the outside of the tyre wants to go faster than the inside but it obviously can't, so a slight amount of wheel skidding is present. As for why you only hear it in the heat I'm not sure sure - maybe because there's more play in hotter tyres?

Yeah, I love that noise.
I pretend I'm on an American 70's TV cop show!

Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

Dunno.. I've never driven through a supermarket! Would save having to lug abot a shopping trolley though.. just drive up & down the isles, picking up what you need & putting it in the back.. GENIUS!!!And why does it only happen in supermarkets!!
