It was great -- last night for some mental reason the door was open and I kept pressing the 'lock car' button and listening to the loud beep that happens.
Then suddenly the car had a mental, and immobolised itself for about 30 minutes! I completely had freaked it out!
You should try this .. hours of fun until you want to actually drive somewhere! After it had decided to have a huff at me, whatever I did with the key and even if I put it in the ignition the car refused to play ball until half-an-hour later!
tried locking your 206CC many times quickly, with a door open

Errr wot loud beep? When I lock/unlock mine, it just flashes the indicators quickly and the car locks or unlocks - the only noise is the door mechanism, am I missing out on somethingkept pressing the 'lock car' button and listening to the loud beep that happens
If it's already locked and I press the "lock" button, it flashes the lights for a long period, supposedly so that you can find it in car parks, but the range is so pathetic you're on top of it before that happens anyhow

If either a door, the boot or bonnet are open (as in wide open, not unlocked open!) and you try & lock the car with the key fob, it'll make a loud rude beep at you...Errr wot loud beep? How cool. Must tryeither a door, the boot or bonnet are open (as in wide open, not unlocked open!) and you try & lock the car with the key fob, it'll make a loud rude beep at you...
By the way, this "follow me home lights" lark. Which lights and under which circumstances are they supposed to stay on? I think I must park in environments that are too light, not noticed anything special happen when I lock the car?

Peugeot and Fiat do this, as earlier said it is to stop kids, the uylsee used to have a key pad that u had to type a code in. One customer of ours her son thought it was a game, he managed to over ride the code and re set it. It cost her loads as we had to fit a new ecu, immobilser ecu, keys etc...
Her kids never touched it again....

Well for a start, you must have your auto lights switched on. Then, it must be dark enough for your headlights to have come on when your engine was on.How cool. Yes, met both of those, but how dark does it need to be, which light exactly "follows you home" (heads or just courtesy?) and when does it go off?Well for a start, you must have your auto lights switched on. Then, it must be dark enough for your headlights to have come on when your engine was on.
Websearch suggested it was headlights. Do they stay on until you lock the car, or for a period of time? The courtesy light stays on for a few seconds after pressing the lock button on the keyfob, is that the extent of being followed home?
The car gets parked in a (lit) garage but I can't see any difference when I park in streets, unless it has to be pitch black for them to work.
