The only mod is:

Wide Webbed seated out shoes with 2 road studs in each (for better grip going round corners!!)

Horsey is called Rosie but Glendales Grey Ghost on a Sunday. If you look up "Stanwick Ghost" on the web they share the same father. He went to the Atlanta Olympics!!

Col,

I would dearly love never to take my horse near a road again but as this is not possible I tolerate it. Motorists and horses can live together if they show consideration for each other which I do as a motorist and horse rider and in all the 13 years of riding my horse any near misses I have been involved in have always been the drivers fault as my horse has more sense. Horses have been around a lot longer than cars and most roads wouldn't exist if horses hadn't needed them first!!!

If you ever go past a horse inconsiderately and frighten it don't be surprised if the resultant half ton landing on your car kills you the occupants and the rider. All for the sake of delaying your journey by about 20 seconds!!

I didn't rise to Mr Awol comments as I hoped by the winking a smiling emoticons that he was saying it a little tongue in cheek!

No one seems to have picked up this comment but I seriously agree!!

in this country we have a system of rights of ways established over many centuriies by use of roads and paths pedestrians animals (including horses and driven stock) and by horse draw vehicles. This is system is enshrined in law (Highways act 1980) It is only in the 20th century that the increased use of motor vehicles has meant the horse is much less prevalent on the roads and only used on roads for recreational purposes.

There is a long an establish right to ride (horses) on roads just cos car drivers find them an inconvenience they should not be banned.

Pedestrians cyclist etc on the carriage way can present just a similar hazard to motorists. Horse may cause additional hazard if startled this is not necessarly the horses fault but this can be caused by the lack of care by motorist. You pass horses carefully just in the same way you check for pedestrian at a zebra crossing it's a matter of safe driving.

What could be worth while is testing licencing all road users horses thier riders cyclist etc. A horse and rider should only be allowed on the road if propery insured schooled and tested.

Personally I'd ban joggers

First. There are lots of other places to exersise without causing a hazard on the road

Second. Run on the road when a verge is available.

Third. They do not take due care and attention of other road users. Often run with thier back to traffic where they are unable to monitor and be aware of traffic to minimise risks to them selves and other road users. There intention to run a a steady place means thay do not modulate thier road use to minmise inconvenience and hazard to other road users

Cyclists who insist on using the main road when there's a perfectly good cycle path next to it. They really piss me off.

While on the subject of banning roadusers, my Top Ten are as follows:
(in no particular order)

1. People using mobile phones while driving
2. Little old ladies who can't see over the steering wheel
3. 17 year old Nova or Corsa drivers (on mummys insurance ;) )
4. Cyclists
5. Caravans
6. Tractors
7. Volvo drivers
8. People reading maps while driving
9. My work colleague, Gibbo.
10. The French

Horseriding and Orgasms the Truth!

No truth in it whatsoever. That is a myth put around by men because they cannot understand why women who have horses prefer them to men and being men they think there must be something sexual in it! The same does not apply to men for whom it can be very painful if not dressed correctly!! If any of you men ever go riding try not to wear jeans!!

Never needed to resort to my horse for an orgasm as my husband is more than proficient in that department.

Here endeth the lesson ;) ;)
