we have got
SONY CDX-CA850 head unit and
SONY CDX-848X cd changer in both cars.

The R4MXS remote stalk is better than the peugeot one as well.

Rob, I'm expecting my CC in Jan and have been looking at Sony head units. I was looking at the CDXM670, but when comparing the price to the CDXCA850 I wonder if the additional cost is acyually justified. Any comment?

I thought the radio/CD in the new spec cars was much better looking and sounding than the old spec so you may considering trying out the car for a while before you decide to change.

the new spec equipment isn't bad. the additional rear speakers make a big difference.

Ah i guess you not from the UK then, in that case definately get an aftermarket system, the new active black machines are nice looking and sounding machines. a good alternative to the Kenwood mask systems

Hi Guys,

Well I replaced my CDRadio with:

* Kenwood MP3 CDRadio Head Unit (KDC-MP6090R) - A very affordable HU which delivers quality sound only if the speakers are replaced. The best thing is that its a mp3 unit which allows you to burn 100s of songs.

* Pioneer custom fit speakers - These are the same ones that fit standard 206 cars. The fittings are the same. I recommend them highly. I've only replaced the front front myself and they have totally changed the sound in my car. I have to at some point change the rear ones but that is gonna be a big job so I may give it to Peugeot to replace them. I'm sure its gonna cost Bucks $$.

Merry Christmas,
Tyce

Does anyone know the max mounting depth of the speakers, for all current positions, without cutting plastics and making further modifications?

when anyone complains about the quality of ICE in the CC, spare a thought this xmas for the poor 106 owners who have embarrassingly crap equipment. i was scared to put the volume above 10 in the courtesy car i had as the doors rattled so much i thought they were gonna fall off.
