you say the vast majority of 17 year ols drive around with no insurance........
No I didn't.
But i bet the vast majority of 17 year olds don't earn enough money to afford their own insurance or have rich parents to pay for it for them (and buy the car in the first place) so a lot of the times, if you want to be mobile at that age, you do get yourself on your parents insurance.
Thats what I said...
I think thats a pretty fair statement. The average 17 year old in Britain today is still in full-time education. And without a bit of "help" from their parents it is unlikely that they hold down a job with the kind of income that lets them first buy, then insure and tax and then actually run a car.
Don't forget Erm, you are from a priveleged background and probably so are your mates (although i'm not stating that as a fact  ) so maybe you aren't quite fully aware of what the real world actually involves, seeing as you have no worries about money (and before you slag me off for saying this, just remember you are a teenage CC owner and full-time student, and unless you smuggle drugs as a part-time job, or sell your organs, I very much doubt that you do it all without a helping hand)
and I bet he was driving on mummy and daddys insurance or even worse, none at all.
which to me implys that u think the majority of 17yr olds have no insurance.
i think your post was misunderstood here thats all.
no - if you read it, it says that i thought that particular guy involved in the accident may have possibly been driving without insurance. Not at any time did i suggest the vast majority drive without insurance. I can only speak from personal experience. About 8 years ago a Metro shot a red-light in my home town and my Dad went into the side of him (unfortunately my Dad was on a motorbike so he was pretty busted up.) The Metro driver? You guessed it...17 years old. No insurance. And his reason as stated to the police? "Couldn't afford it" and THEN proceeded to blame the system for insurance being too expensive for young kids!!!!!
Boys Boys Boys come on now lets not be falling out!!
We are all guilty of stereotyping from time to time. When I told my friends about the accident they all presumed that the Lotus driver was the kn**head! I do find generally that the flashy sports cars are more polite than the old bangers. Perhaps this is because the banger drivers are stereotyping me as some rich b*tch riding round a very affluent area on a horse. I must say that I am not and although horsey lives in a lovely place I don't! She's worth it!!
Burge
P.S. If horsey was a car she would have to be a Mini Cooper S (original type not BMW).
Yes we are - we're all numbers, not individuals!! (Take a look at people signatures if you don't believe me!!! ) Wheres "GamesMaster" to sort all this out? Sorry, i mean Lyndon!!!
She doesn't have a flag and she is only 1bhp but she is fast as f**k. That is when I dare let her go!! Stopping is always a problem and ground conditions have to be perfect and she always has to be at the front. Went out with my friend once and she was on her ex-racehorse. We were trotting along the road and hers got in front of mine so mine went a bit faster so hers went a bit faster etc etc so we had to come back to a walk for safetys sake!! And I just sat there without even having to push the accelerator!!!
For all you boys out there who think the more Bhp the better need to try 1 Bhp with the addition of a brain! It can be extremely exhilerating!!!
