2 months ago I bought a 206cc from Tradesales in Slough, from their paperwork it shows they had it for a max of 3 days. I bought it with 3 miles on the clock.

I've noticed a problem with the paintwork where the 'struts' are attached to the boot. The paint appears to be flaking away. I have raised this with my local dealer who gave me the sneering "so it's an import" attitude and who are now claiming that the car appears to have a respray on the boot and it's not covered under the warranty. I'm locking horns with the customer services dept at Peugeot who are sending an expert to look at it but I was wondering whether anyone else had a similar problem with their paintwork. Also, any words of wisdom of how to proceed if their expert says it has had a respray???

You could always take it to another Pug dealer to see if they say the same. If the local Pug dealers still won't touch it because they claim its been resprayed then I'd be inclined to confront the company that sold it and consider rejecting the car or demanding suitable compensation for what is clearly not a new car. If you need independant advice there are professional companies out there that will test the thickness of paint to establish wether it has been sprayed, and how many coats, but that can be costly so I'd check to see if the AA undertake this first.

I had a problem with the paint of my car (bonnet had to be resprayed completely as paint "bubbled" in one point + the left rear "luggage rack thing" had flaked too) so brought it to the peugeot bodyshop who did all the work under warranty. They kept on saying that my car was an import but then I manage to convince them that it is a genuinely ITALIAN car with italian number plates + insurance + tax etc.
I hated it when they kept referring to it as an import! Coz of course it clearly was NOT.
Got results in the end anyway.
