Audable Alarm roof

Having some problems with the roof alarm on our cc, In the morning when we drive the car for the first time the audable alarm comes on where we have to stop and re set the boot with the hydraulics. This has been in to peugeot 3 times and they have not been able to fix problem. This has manifested it self from the peugeot re call where we had some new catches fitted to the boot. Does any one have a solotion as this is driving us around the bend. In fairness to Abercromby they are trying to resolve this problem but they dont seem to be getting the help from Peugeot.
Any help on this matter would be very much appreciated. Thanks Tom

I had similar problem with the roof alarm (see previous post - Roof alarm). The first dealer couldn't fix it after replacing all the microswitches over 4 visits. Had to take it to a second dealer who found that the boot mountings were loose. Everytime I opened the boot or left the car for a long time, the boot lid moved and flicked the switch so the car "thought" the roof wasn't closed. Fixed after tightening the boot mountings. Worth checking yours?

Dear Tom and Tony,

Just wanted to say that I'm really grateful for the info about the roof alarm problem - I had something very similar (everytime I took a sharp corner or drove over a bump the alarm would go off). As time went on it started to feel like the alarm was on a real hair-trigger and I was avoiding pot holes like there was no tomorrow. Sometimes I would get out of the car and it would refuse to lock (thinking the roof was still partially up, presumably). The only way to get it to lock would be to open and slam the boot. When this first started happening I was in a real panic about it but read all the forum discussions on roofs including yours and came to the conclusion that it must be either the microswitches or the boot mountings, just as you say. I even wrote out a detailed description of the problem and these two possible diagnoses for the dealership and I'm happy to say it is now fixed. We didn't get a print out of the report from the dealership (is this normal when it is still under warranty?) but my partner says he caught sight of it and that boot mountings were mentioned. Ho, ho!

I still flinch everytime I drive over a bump, tho'!

I, like a few other visiting this site had a problem with my roof. It was working fine and the suddenly stopped working properly. At first I thought it might be one of the many micro switches but the problem seemed to be intermitent and the audible alarm would sound when i pulled away or came to a stop. On top of this the windows would not go down at the start of the process.
After visiting this site I took another look to see if I could find out why the roof was not working and I noticed that on the r/h side there is a cable that connects to a locking mechanism and right at the end of the cable is a small metal sleeve (like a tube with a ridge) and this had jumped out of its loacation piont. What this means is that a micro switch located very close to it will not switch off and also the roof does not lock shut so when you pull away it roof moves and the alam will sound.
The simple way to see if you might have the same problem is to grab hold of the boot where the long handles are on the boot and see if you can pull it up, if you can pull it up it means that its not locking and the switch does not operate 100% and will seem to be intermitent. I am not suprised that some dealers would not spot this problem and start by replacing all the micro switches. I am happy to take and send photos if this would help anyone.

I got my cc last week and when lowering the roof all seems to work ok except the motor doesn't stop and there's no beep at the end ie roof seems to lock down ok but car doesn't know it.

Putting roof up is fine with motor going off and beep sounding.

If you could take some photos of your roof bits that would be great. I was rear ended about five weeks ago by some bint in a Freelander. She didn't hit me very hard but the approved accident repair centre monkeys who fixed it still took five weeks. When I first got my car back the boot was out of alignment, they said they'd noticed that and duly took thirty minutes fixing it. Great, but why not fix it properly when they noticed it!

Anyway, they also told me my car had a central locking fault that they believed was nothing to do with the accident, they wouldn't fix it or tell me any more but that I would have to convince the insurance company that it was to do with the accident and get quotes from Peugeot garages (boy, do I wish I'd gone there in the first place). Anyway, this was a week ago and I have it booked in for it's first quote on Monday. In the meantime the central locking fault has become exactly what is explained above. When you press the roof down button it never realises it has finished putting the roof down and the roof motor just whirrs. As soon as you drive away, that beep starts. When it's raining and you have a one hour commute it is really rather annoying... :x :x :x

I am hoping Peugeot can find and fix it but if you have some stuff to point them in the right direction or even something I can look at myself that would be great. Right, now I just have to battle the insurance company.

I reckon when you get hit by another car you should have the option of driving their car instead of a poxy Clio...

I remember when I first got my CC they roof started making the beeping noise, have you noticed the faster you go, the faster the beeping goes!! How bizarre!!! Anyway took it back to Peugeot and they sorted it, its been fine ever since (touch wood).

where are the microswitches for the roof/boot?

my roof stuck near the end of close cycle. got it shut - but now won't open again. looking thru the forum it seems as if these switch things might be to blame - but don't know where they are! or is this absolutely a dealer job...
