Is it possible to deadlock your car without activating the alarm?

My alarm keeps going off due to a faulty microswitch (which is on order) and its bugging me and the neighbours!

I think doing it the old fashion way works, i.e. sticking the key in the lock and turning it. I've had to unlock and lock my car this way when my battery went dead in the key.

Hello

I have a generation 1 CC, where deadlocking invloved pressing 2 buttons on the remote. Not sure i am deadlocking the car when i turn with the key, think it may be just locking. I will give it a try later, when it stops raining!

I had something wrong with my alarm a couple of weeks ago, VERY irritating, and no my neighbours weren't too chuffed either!

But, the garage told me that I couldn't deadlock my car without setting the alarm, as just turning the key the old fashioned way only locks the car.

Thanks Aimee, saves me from trying it in the rain, thought that was the case as it doesn't do the double click thing when locking manually.

Oh well better than getting up at 4am in a blind panic!!
