Finally took the plunge and returned the car to the zoo to sort out a few problems ie squeeky brakes, rattling door, dodgy alarm. Took an hours removing and cleaning my nice alloys and stuck the standard steel rims back on. I've never been so ashamed of my car, can't believe i drove around 6 months without alloys

The day started badly was when i dropped off the car another service guy said brakes wouldn't be covered as it was almost 2 years old and had 14K on the clock. Lost my temper ranting about wasting my time. Told him i had been told they would look at it cos a mod was now available. He then changed his tune saying he was juss back from hols and as it was a CC there may be a fix!!?!

3:45pm
Get a call from them and its the usual guy who deals with my car, says the car is ready to pick up, quizzed him on what was done. He said replaced pads!!! Realigned rattly door and have ordered a replacement microswitch for the alarm. I am now in a bit of a shock, not only have they replaced the pads but they have actually managed to sort it out first time!!!

too good to be true? I'll let you know as soon as i know

fingers cross!!!

PS More good news
Took my wheel to the local tyre shop to remove 2 screws embedded into the tyre. Amazingly neither of them had gone through and caused a puncture!!

Well done on the zoo visit col!

This mod for the brakes, is it for all cc's (and I should ask for it at my next service) or is it for cc's made before a certain date?
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

The way the dealer said it was that it depended on the batch of cc you had and he would have to look at the car before deciding on the next course of action. So not sure if my car was in that particualr batch or he just wanted rid of me after the hassle they got when my roof leaked!! not sure which though! So far no sqeaks but the brakes don't seem to be very responsive. Will have to test them a bit more.

Just ring them and ask about the brake pad mod for the cc
