Hi,

I am trying to find a company that will make me some number plates up. I don't want the normal bog standard ones - I would quite like some plain funky ones.

Any ideas anyone??????

Cheers

This place has got a good numberplate constructor which shows you what they look like. A friend sent off for a pair for his car. They're not BS marked, seems to be an offence to sell non BS marked plates in the mainland UK but ok from Northern Ireland where this bunch are located. They also don't need proof of V5 or V11 before doing the plates, you do it online and they turn up in the post.

The plates themselves are physically identical to BS plates even down to the small area where the BS number would be, which is blank on their plates. He had standard plates with a Land Rover graphic and the GB mark with a local garage name underneath to avoid stressing the plod :)

They were £20 for the pair IIRC. Necessary because some oiks removed his plates when left at a train station overnight. Which brings me back to point one... if they make it too difficult to get plates made in the UK, people will just nick them off other cars.

I really don't recommend you get them unless you don't mind getting fined! Nearly everyone has different style plates in Northern Ireland so when I went to England I thought nothing of it, 2 weeks there and I got stopped and fined for them. Changed them to a much more legible but still not exactly legal pair and got fined again a month later  They're sooooooo strict in England!
If you do really want them and cant get them PM me cuz there are loadsa shops that do them here but you have been warned!!

Many thanks guys for your help. I will have a look of some of the websites. I don't want anything fancy - just plain normal letters with no writing on the bottom or top and no GB sign!!! Do you think that is OK??

Should have said my mate had standard font from the place in Belfast, just they did it quick and without the aggrevation of taking a day off work to go somewhere personally in order to prove ownership. But on looking at the other website they are prepared to accept a scanned in image of a V5 emailed to them so it's no great hassle.

All the places are like that in Belfast, I've never once had to prove that the registration is mine!
