:? :? :? I was in my local watering hole with my friends last night and they asked me how much my car was. I told them it was 16,000 but I had to borrow 10,000.......they then thought that I was barking to borrow this much!! My repayments are £241.00 each month for 4 years, but I don't care cos I love the car. I am a radiographer so I don't actually earn megabucks!
Please tell me that there are other people out there who don't think Im daft and who also pay out large amounts each month for their cc's!!!

i think your mad but its a nice car so quite right :D

i didn't borrow anything this time or my last car as i'm not keen on taking loans out when i have a mortgage.

most i borrowed was the time before in feb 98 when i borrowed £6k for a 306 that cost £12,200 but that was only £260 i think over 2yrs as it was interest free.

you are not on your own......I got the WHOLE amount as a loan.
The good thing tho was that I bought the car in Italy and got the loan here, saving money! The interest rate was good as well, and being the only debt I have (apart from the mortgage), I can easily afford that.....
and also I have the option, if I decide to go back to Italy, to bugger off with my car paid for! ehehehehehe 8)

I have to admit that I have borrowed £15,000 and am paying £363.00 a month over 4 years.

I don't earn loads either but as I have minimal outgoings (don't have a mortgage and pay token rent) I can afford it.

I thought that if I didn't do it now while I can afford it then I never would so I try not to think about it and am concentrating on 3 and half years time when it will all be mine!! :)

(Would never touch garage finance though!)

Ditto! That's not an HSBC graduate loan is it?! That's exactly what I did. My car was only just over 14k but I took a bit extra out for various other things. The problem with me was that my insurance was costing a further 145 a month and I was getting through at least 200 a month on petrol.
It was all affordable but I was also paying off my student debts and wanted to start clearing some of them which is why I sold the car and paid off the loan.

I'm now paying 150 a month on a flexible loan for my new car, 75 a month insurance and about 100 a month on diesel which is giving me nearly 400 quid extra per month. The laon is flexible so can pay extra back if I have extra money one month, and if I'm having a tight month I only need to pay the minimum of about 50 quid.

yip Im just as daft!

I took out 12k loan over 5 years!
Then borrowed another 7k to get the car modded and pay of debts!

And Im just a poor nurse! So after I pay my loans and car insurance Im skint! lookin 4 a 2nd job ontop of my full time 1!

And its all becauwse of my car, but I wouldnt change that! :lol:

Yep, me too..luckily my mum fell in love with the car (she now wants to swap her Saab for one, copycat) and offered to get the loan out for me. £12000 over 3 years at about £400 a month, then I pay her back when I earn more than peanuts. Am hoping that she might just forget about it though...Ha! :lol:
Lovin it! Specially when the roof doesn't leak;)

Nah seriously- you're all mugs...i got mine tax-free. There is no way o0n EARTH I would ever buy a brand-new car in the UK at our overinflated prices. Can't understand why anyone would to be honest. I know theres the "prestige" of owning a brand-new car but at the end of the day you only have the 'latest' number plate for 6 months now and as a few of you are currently finding at the moment, the trade-in value on a 12 month old CC is WAY below what you probably believe....
Thats my two cents anyway. :lol:
