So she is only 16 and her 25 year old boyfriend is called Gary Fidler

If he started seeing her before she was 16 then that is a pretty apt surname.... ;)

I saw that on the news this morning all she wants is to buy a house and a 206 CC perhaps we should get her on the forum..

She's not even old enough to drive yet!

Still at least she has good choice in cars (although if I had that much money I think I would be a bit more adventurous!)

1.8 mil isn't exactly a 'never need to work' amount anyway...

:?

You consider it ... You're gonna spend £800,000 on a really nice place ... £100,000 on nice car + doing the place up + pressies for family and stuff ..

So you have £900,000 left for the rest of your life. If you invest it -- with the market ups and downs -- I reckon you're looking on average of a 10% return.

So £90,000 a year. All very nice in 2003 .. but in 2030 -- going off the last 30 years inflation records .. its gonna be the equivelent of that girl recieving maybe £12000 a year.

In other words -- by no means of the imagination can she give it all up and swan around the world forever.

But then she is still going to have an 800K house that is going to be worth how much in 30 years time?

The average wage is something like 25K a year before tax so 1.8 million is still the equivalent of 72 years income for the average person.

I could quite happily give up working for the rest of my life for 1.8 million!!

Don't forget the interest she will earn if that amount is sitting in a high interest savings plan! Think the papers said she could live off that easily!

Not jealous at all!

Doesn't even have to be a particularly high interest plan. On a million, you're looking at 40 grand even on a good basic savings plan at 4%.
