Hi all

Just thought i'd let you all know that after driving 2500 miles in my new CC my brakes have now decided to sqeak like hell.
I now see what you have all been going on about in the forum.......couldn't really relate until now!

So what do i do know then? Do the monkeys recognise this a common problem and have a fix?

No doubt you will all tell me about your frustrations when it comes to trying to get your brakes sorted!

If your car is less than 6 months old and 6000 miles (which I assume it is) then you should be able to get them changed under warranty. Phone your dealer and tell them to change it (have to be a bit forceful - dealers dno't seem to be too happy to do this work at the moment).

My CC has now done 11k miles and it's been squeaking severaly for only the last 1500 miles or so. I'm selling the car in a few hours though so I'm not too bothered about it any more ;)

Bah...the screeching brakes for me too...at 2200 miles.

Did you see Cutting It last night.....Amanda Holden's character drives an aegean blue CC and she came to a very squeaky halt at one stage....oh how I smirked in recognition!!

Love my car though and this doesn't spoil it for a moment - off on a big trip to Scotland at the weekend and praying for sunshine (!)

I ordered the new brake pads with the number on the previous post... the monkeys are saying the order is blocked by Peugeot! Any one on here has fitted the new pads recently in Uk?

Blocked?
Is that because the number is invalid in the UK?
Or don't they supply them in the UK?

they say the number is a valid one, apparently the order is blocked (i ordered them about a month ago or so) and it coudl be for many reasons: Peugeot decided to stop priducing those pads, there is a problem in getting hold of the pads etc.....
I only know 1 thing tho, they r useless.....

talking about squeaky brakes......I was watching the WRC the other night, and guess what? Burn's 206 came to a halt...... his brakes squeaked toooooooooo! If they can't fix it on a rally car, nevermind our mortal ones!

Take the pads out and clean them and and copper slip the pads.
This will also work. I have looked for some high rated brake pads, has anyone got any suggestions?????

Copper slip didn't work on my pads. Just made the brakes fade and the discs really dirty ;)

Seriously I tried putting copper grease on the back of my pads and it still squealed every so often. I have subsequently brought a pressure washer and blast fcuk out of the callipers and pads every so often. This works for about 300 miles
