Hi,

I got my silver CC 1,6 two days ago and here are my impressions...

First the bad ones:
1)Windows and maybe roof are ratling, make noise. I have solved the windows problem by lowering it just a little bit.
2)suspension is hard
3)wheel is hard as well
4)multiplex lag: I press the horn and it horns just a bit of second later. I turn on the big lights to warn someone coming and they light just a little bit later.
5)plastic quality, like buttons, knobs etc is a bit poor, not better than my previous car.
6)alarm in Greece is not yet available!!!
7)stalk adapter in Greece is not yet available!!!

now for the godd part:
1)the roof is really impressive
2)the new specs with trip computer etc
3)1600cc seem really strong and fast even at the beginning
4)seats are great
5)handling is great
6)the rear seats CAN carry one normal person or TWO small.
7)the car looks fantastic

Hi Yannis, just some suggestions to your questions.

1) Try rubbing a silicon lubricant (Rubber & Nylon lubricant from Halfords here in the UK is recommended) carefully onto the roof and door rubber seals with cotton wool as Col and other members have suggested, hopefully this should help cure your creaks/rattles (mentioned in "other" section).

2+3). Could be your tyres are over inflated as happens from main dealers. Suggest best setting is 32psi as mentined by Rob - also the tyre pressure sticker is on the inside of your door just incase you haven't noticed yet (also mentioned in "other "section).

4). Multipex lag is a problem for the 2002 model cars in general and has been widely discussed on the Forum, not aware of any solution at present.

5+6). Sorry to hear it.

Hi All
Why is the 2002 multiplex a problem? I have this in my car and to be honest the "delay" is parts of a second. Its nothing to worry about. I know I will probably be shot down in flames for saying this but to me it really isnt a problem. Not compared to all the plus points on the car.

it should be near the lock striker plate.

For normal people like me, thats the thing you see when you open the door that the door locks onto.

yes I am!!!

Our daughter went to a football match yesterday so hubby and I had the chance to go for a Sunday afternoon drive!!!! How sad is that? Nice afternoon though down to Henley in Arden for a stroll down the high street and a drink at the pub!!!! I drove though, didnt want any more comments on the lines of "where is the elecctric seat adjustment"!!!!!

Hi,

I just did the lubricant trick!! Cracks and rattles seem to have been reduced A LOT!
I applied lubricant in every single rubber surface.
I opened the roof until to the middle and applied on the rubber between the rear window and the roof. Could this (opening until the middle) harm the roof?

Liz, Afternoon at Henley, that sounds so nice - must have been a bit breezy.

Went for countless drives over the last week, mostly through country lanes to old pubs for meals, so my girlfriend and I share the drive.

You mentioned your daughter, you may remember I'm a gooner. Go to most games, came back from Highbury having watched a***nal/spurs - yeees). Travelling up to Old Trafford to the FA semi next weekend).

Well my daughter has just declared her support for a***nal (previously a spurs supporter) so I'm busy buying shirts/tickets for us all to go to the matches.

Glad to see your having such great weather with your nice new car!

Yannis, glad to hear the rubber lubricant did the trick.

I think I was told by Peugeot that you should keep your hand on the open/close button till you hear the beeps otherwise the roof may get stuck mid way if it's stopped prematurely.

Mind you, I've known people to stop the roof in mid operation like you had and experience no problems as a result so I would't worry too much - but I personally would't make a practise of it just in case.

If I dont stop the roof to the middle how can I use the lubricant on the rubber on the top of the roof?
Do you have any ideas?

Does the seal in the middle of the roof squeak? I must be lucky, its only the ones around the windows that creak in my car!

If it is squeaking, I guess stopping the roof half way is the only way of lubing the seals.

You can always get to the seals when the roof is foldered away in the boot (i think you can anyway)
