Sounds like character building stuff Derek
Whee repair it, that sounded like a close call, either that guy was travelling back to base at the end of his shift or divine intervention intervened.
Reminds me of the time I stupidly decided to drink drive (yep stupid I know). Travelling from London to Burgess Hill, I decided to turn left down a deserted country road for a quick pee.
Well in the middle of it a traffic police volvo estate cruises by catching me peeing in their headlights
but failed to stop. 20 seconds later came another, and I'm still peeing but they also failed to stop.
Gee! Whats the chance of finding 2 trafffic cars dow a deserted road I thought.
It turned out that round the bend was the local W Sussex traffic police HQ!
Bet they all had a laugh when they parked back at the station at the end of their shift

The 14 day rule is this.
If you have not recieved a letter through the door within 14 days, you have got away with it. Its called a NIP, Notice of Intended Prosecution.
It does exactly what it says on the letter.
As I am like Robbie, but still serving, I can offer snipets of advice, so if you need any more advice let me know.

2 weeks for the notice, not the fine. As long as the NIP comes withing 2 weeks, they've got something like 6 months to summons you, IIRC.

What i wanna know, is why i was refused my picture? Fair enough i only wanted it to hang on tha garage wall, but they werent to know that. Isnt it illegal to withhold evidence regarding a criminal prosecution? Isnt there also some rule about invalidating evidence if it is not disclosed before the hearing? aren't the old bill just ripping us all off for the cash?
