     I'm Gutted!!! I picked up my brand new cc 2.0i Agean blue last Friday afternoon and I love it.
After finishing my 12 hour shift as a Radiographer at my local hospital I arrived at my car and had found that some Bast@rd had carved a huge scratch along the whole side of the vehicle!! I' ve only done 310 miles  Worst still I called into my dealer on the way home and they said it would prob cost about £500 to put right and that was with discount cos they felt sorry for me! Any Ideas?

£500 does seem a lot. Some one manage to scrape the side of ours while parking. Blue paint was left behind and it was more a gauge than just a deep scratch. We guess it wasn't vandalism, you make yours sound like it was. The work was £400 and something at our local dealer and that included taking the interior trim apart and doing some panel beating. I understand because of the nature of metalic paint they have to repaint a whole section if it is damaged. In our case it was the door and rear wing. With a protected no claims we had it done on insurance.

Bad Luck and try shopping around for the best price.

Good luck getting it fixed

Thats awful news Lucy, some people just dont like anyone 2 have anything nicer than them.

I got a tiny little ding where someone opened their door on mine, and they wanted £200 to fix it, so I guess your £500 is about right

By the way if it was at a hospital then try asking about any cctv footage they have? only thing that might make u feel better is finding the b@57@rds that done it!

That is bad news - this sort of thing seems to happen a lot, and not just to nice cars.

Sorry to make a joke out of the situation, but "CCTV" - good pun!

£500 ??
I'd suggest going through the yellow pages looking for a small paintshop rather than one of the big one that tend to handle insurance cases. As an example ....

When I had my incident with my roof (supra) most bodyshops wouldn't even look at having a go at the roof but quoted me for a new roof and spray over £1000 of work. However I found a small company and they charged £250 - I was a little worried about going to a smaller outfit but then they opened the poaint shop and their was an M3 BMW sat in there. you tend to find that they are cheaper as less overheads but also they tend to be a bit specilist too.

That is bad news, but if you shop around you should be able to whittle it down a bit.

I hope something like that happens to there car, but it probably wont.

Sorry to hear about that ,

Have you thought about contacting your local chips away franchise for an estimate , I ve been hearing good reports about them BUT i am told it depends on who your local franchise is > I've got my local coming tomorrow , to give me a quote on repairing a scuff on my rear towing eye , I'll let you know if they're any good .On the positive side , I knew someone who had a civic type R with vandal damage , chips away bodged the job so he insisted they pay for a repair in honda , after a few threats of legal action they did pay up _ over £700.............

The stupid idiots!

Was yours the only one scratched? Maybe there were other cars also at wihich they were caught on tape?
500 seems a bit much i think, but i have no idea what those sort of things cost anyway.

I'm have my bonnet vent (or whatever it's called), windowssprayers and mirrors painted by my local dealer the vent costed me about 50eur (gpb 36). Still haven't gfot a receipt for payment from them and they haven;t mentioned anything yet when i was their last week. ;)

I rather go to my dealer then to a third party, well at least as long as i've got good experiences with my dealer and so far that still is the case. :D
