Yes worrying about it ......it happens to all of us from time to time...it's just one of those things......it gives the car character.

You could always take it back to the dealer but I am not aware of any fixes for eratic bonging.

Mine sometimes forgets to bong as well. At first I just nudged the roof the other way for a second then back again and that tends to sort it out, but these days I just accept it!

The 3 beeps sometimes go off for no particular reason as well. Just accept it. It is just a computer after all... :S

I always get a bleep when opening the latches. There is a switch in the roof by the latches that signals the latches are released. It signals that you can now depress the switch to lower the roof. When putting the roof back up I always wait for the end bleep and then close the latches. I do not know what causes the final bleep, but I guess its there for a reason so I always keep me finger on the button until it sounds.

Oh yeah it might have something to do with multiplex cars. Not sure as my car is the old type with a conventional loom.

You could always fill the car up with super grass/gas and inhale the exhaust fumes. Make your car in to one big bong. :|

It happened when I opened the roof for a pug monkey to fit the windstop for me. His comment was "well its open isnt it?" (as if to say theres nothing to worry about!)

Think it just adds to the character! :rotfl:

If I'm opening it and it doesn't bong then I usually reverse it a bit and try again - I just have images of it not locking properly and lifting open when I drive fast. But when closing the clips hold it in so I don't bother.

it forgets to bong ..

ROOF GOING DOWN ..

if you put up either of the latches AT ALL before the boot has shut back up again completely.

ROOF GOING DOWN ..

Going down it forgets to bong if you undo the clips and IMMEDIATELY press the button before is has given the first DING meaning 'its OK to press the roof button now'.
