I have also suffered "squeaky brake syndrome" on my cc (when it reached about 600 miles on the clock). I took the car to my dealer who informed me that they couldn't actually find anything wrong (think they must have had hearing difficulties) but they cleaned and dressed the brakes and callipers and it worked a treat. No more avoiding the red traffic lights!!!

Hi All,

My car developed the squeaky brake problem after about 4000 miles. I've had it into the dealer who cleaned them, and it made absolutely no difference. The service manager told me I need to make sure they are cleaned regularly, but seeing as this was they same day they had been done, I asked her if she meant hourly? She wasn't amused.

They finally admitted that the brake pads needed replacing, but that this wouldn't be covered by the warranty - I'd have to pay.

I phoned pug customer relations and told them I wasn't willing to pay for a problem on a brand new car and they agreed to do it under warranty.

I booked the car in to have the work done, but there are no suitable pads anywhere in west yorkshire apparently, and the factory can't get them out until mid june, by which time I'll be in spain.

Hopefully I'll have more luck with the dealers there.

Moral of the story is, if pug try to charge you for brake pad replacements after just a few thousand miles, INSIST THAT THEY PAY, and contact head office if neccesary,

J

Just hit 3000 miles - squeaky brakes at low speed...will try and take to (German) dealer next week. V. annoying.! However, Peugeot dealer is just over the road from McDonalds so I will be able to feed my McFlurry (with Dime) habit!!!
Annoyed with the brakes though

greg,

i'll get the dealer to look at it during the 6k service.

i can't for one second believe they will try to upset me by saying they can't do anything as i believe we came to an understanding on my expectations when they replaced my CC

Derek, don't be surprised if your dealer has moved with no forwarding address when you book yours in for service.
