Well , you are right. The car was 22.000 ALL IN euros in 2002, if it was a write off I would have gotten 23.000 euros ( new value of the car + 75% from the extra's like leather, climate control and metallic ).don't think it's anywhere near a write-off but not nice to see
The value before the crash was 17.500 euros. The garage will fix the car for 12.000 euros, that is 2/3d of the current value, so that's a write-off but because I would have gotten 23.000 euros it is NOT a write off.
Anyway, I will take my microscope with me when I pick up my car in 3 weeks time. A friend of mine had a comparible crash with her normal 206 , damage 8000 euros, and she had to go back 3 times after they fixed it beacause it wasn't good. And she says the car doesn't drive the same as before.
Anyway, because I have a PEUGEOT warranty, Peugeot will also want to check the car after it is fixed so they can continue the warranty.
Current car : a 206 1.4 L which drives smooth, in fact the gear box is smoother than my CC's 1.6 GB! And the breaks don't sqeak, and the windows also don't sqeak neither :-).
