Wondering if I win an award for having the most problems with my car over a long period of time but not rejecting it or selling it (yet!)

I think so far the problems have been  :

Leaking on drivers side by roof clip - seals replaced
Leaking on passenger side into footwell - seals and membrane replaced
Squeaky brakes
Cracked exhaust manifold - replaced
Undiagnosed engine management light fault - coil and spark plugs replaced
Alarm faulty - alarm ecu and sonics to be replaced

Have I got much of the original car left??

did the cracked manifold sound like a tinning noise from under the car?

cos mine has just started doing that and I'm not sure why!

I forgot that one, the door not shutting properly meant they realigned the door which caused the passenger door to start leaking and the membrane to need replacing!!

The cracked exhaust mainfold symptom is a knocking from the engine on acceleration.

Ah, the joys of owning a cc, I bet you still miss it Rob! ;)
On a sunny day I DO miss it, but I prefer the speed, handling and reliability of my Ford(s).

I still cant get out of the habit of checking if the drivers seat is wet after rain and we have had no CC's for over a year now.

I NEVER thought i would hear ANYONE say that Rob!!!!!!!!

Still, i suppose things have changed over the last 5 or 6 years? I can only speak for transit vans and Mondeos, but at least they follow the old Ford tradition of being underpowered, unreliable, and :censored: on corners!

Well like i say - 2 mondeos and a few transit vans are not enough to enable to give reliable opinion on ALL new fords :D It is just strange to hear the words Ford, Relaiable Fast and particularly handling (at least a positive remark) in the same sentence! Bear in mind that when i started to drive 'Dagenham dustbin' was still a very much used phrase, and the brand was basically sold as cheap to run, buy, repair and they had a poor reliance reputation! Now they are no longer as cheap to buy, run or repair so i guess that shows in the increased quality?

Hopefully i didnt offend you - The only Ford i ever drove that i liked was my mates Focus - if you wanna lend me your puma for the weekend then i will tell everyone how it drives! ;) :D

No, they're for people in Scoobs to overtake people in Pumas :D
