I've had my car coming up to 6 months, having the same common fault as everyone else: breaks, leaking roof, engine oil level, 1.6 sluggage acceleration, crunching reverse, but this one is a little strange.
Now the second time in 2 weeks, I've had a random fault flashing on the display for 2 seconds. The first was Catalytic Converter Fault, this morning it was something like Anti Pollen fault (couldn't see as the sun was shining on the display). After these occurred I don't get good acceleration and when stationary the car seems to be vibrating and on checking the exhaust it's puffing. Does this sound like dodgey software that manages the engine. It went into the garage last week, but they said everything was fine. As ususal!!
Mine has done it once. I take it to the dealer and they updated software. No more antipollution faults
My dealer hasn't a clue what caused those faults (they find nothing suspicious from the data logger)
Have u washed the car recently or got it very wet driving in heavy rain ? I experience this fault every time I wash the car. By the time I get booked in to dealers it has always disappeared.
I haven't washed it recently and it has occurred when driving to work when it's been dry. The fault isn't shown on startup, but has occurred about 3 minutes into the journey. Both times it showed the fault, it was at the same point in my journey.
Does it c ck up the engine running on yours? If you turn the engine off and back on, engine running is back to normal.
Have it booked into the garage this morning, so hopefully they will do a software upgrade and see how it goes.
Got me pug back Not sure if it's been fixed as the problem was intermittent, but they replaced extension coils?? They said that if it continues then they'll take a look at the cylinder head. Also have to take it back for a VSI update, I take it thats the software update?? They didn't have my transponder card so it couldn't be done today. I was quite impressed as they even got rid of the spanner that was always beside the mileage and I never asked for that to be done. I'll wait 2 weeks and take it in for the 6 month service to see if there are anymore antipollution faults. Next time I'll mention the squeaky breaks and I'm sure I heard clunking as well.
Theres something not right if your car screws up after it's been washed or been out in heavy rain. That definately needs looking at. You should get the garage to wash it and then drive it
I bought my 206cc a month ago, and I'm starting to wonder if the problems will stop....
Firstly, the fan in the engine wasn't aligned properly and when it came on, it kept tapping against the grill... Took it in last week to get fixed and my dealer noticed that the windscreen was TOO SMALL for the car!!
So i've now had to have a new windscreen put in.
Now a week later, that AntiPollution fault has come up on the screen and the yellow light is on the dash! I've also started hearing that metallic sounding notice when driving on from a cold start... It goes away after a few minutes, but still haven't a clue what it could be!
I called my local dealer but their completely booked up for the next week! So dunno if its safe to drive the car whilst that antipollution fault is there???
My 206CC has been back to the dealer 4 times in 4 weeks because of an intermittent "air bag fault" display. Despite reloading the software, they claim it's fixed.....until I turn up again. 20% of the time there's no fault shown on the display, but the other 80% of the time GRRR!! The last visit the computer test showed a whole swag of other problems like no fuel injection too. Along with this, at night the dash display switches from dim to bright for no reason.
Has anyone else experienced this? And has the dealer been able to fix it? and HOW?
No haven't had any problems with the display... I got my car looked at yesterday about that antipollution thing and all they did was upgrade the computer software and it went off!!!
Because it's always a good idea to have the latest software. Kind of like it's a good idea to have the latest Windows updates so you don't have to worry about the MSBlaster virus ;-)
