I've just bought my 206cc and have looked at all coupes and convertibles know to man!
I thought the MR2s weren't particuarly pretty and the spec wasn't terribly high, not to mention my bum seemed to be about 3 inches from the road.
Glad I made the decission I did. Passed a silver MR2 on the M25 today as I sailed past it I'm sure the two boy racer occupants looked at me admiringly, honest
After seeing the CC concept in 1998, WOW must have one if and when it made production. purchased mar 2001, loved every minute of it. top down, suns out, big grin from here to here
Yes i like the CC, could have bought loads of different cars for the same money but it was the only car me.
Thanks for the replies. I have test driven the 206 already and with some of the post on this forum in mind, asked the dealer about build quality. No problem he said. Anyway came for a test drive and the first one failed to start, dead battery. The second one had the ominious roof rattle on the passenger side, the driver's visor had fallen off, the driver's seat would rceline forward and they couldn't get the roof to work. Both of these were on the forecourt for sale! Says a lot about the dealer so I won't be getting one from there.
Anyway I haven't been able to stay away from the looks of the 206 and hope to test drive both, one after the other next Saturday.
I guess I am trying to work out which will be more fun to own.
Probably get shot for this but... the only other car I would have other than the CC would be an MR2. I've driven both and after this CC I will probably go for one. Saying that I will enjoy the summer in the CC!!
i would strongly recommend a CC - even with the problems people have.
when i rejected my CC in february 02, i was offered a full cash refund. as there was no other car i wanted in that style and price range i took another CC.
derek

Morning Lusaka, I looked at both the CC and the MR2 at the Brighton car show last year.
The MR2 of course is a quick car and in my opinion has striking good looks with the roof down (a bit Boxter-ish) and my heart still jumps a beat when I see them on the road, but the dull black interior was a real bad turn off and the console also looked old fashioned to me. So was the rag-top roof, the design of which I didn't think complimented the car at all when up (almost appears to be an after thought to me).
The CC in my opinion has a much more modern interior and great styling with the roof up and down.
That's why I'm now the owner of my CC and still love it after 6 months.
