Hi,
just picked up a new, shiny black 206cc 2.0SE yesterday. Note in the UK the weather changed on Friday just in time not to use the open-top!

I noticed that the engine revs a little high at idle - around 1500rpm before sinking slowly back to 800-900, even when warm. Whilst driving, between gear changes the revs continue to climb for a second or two after releasing the accelerator pedal and de-clutching. This doesn't seem normal at all. Like, no other car I've owned has done this and makes it look like you can't drive! :?

Has anyone else seen this? I'm going back to the garage today..... Otherwise, it's a great car and just in time for 'summer' (such as it is!)

Mine is the other way around, revs too low almost feels like it's going to cut out.
Garage reckoned they couldn't feel it.

Mine does this too - never seen it as a problem, although it is a little unusual.

Mine does that too.
I have noticed that some new cars (other than Peugeot's) do that :?

Update - from Warwick Wright in Croydon which is where I took the car to get it looked at. The car (french import via Trade Sales) was apparently still in 'Showroom mode' - does anyone know what that means? Maybe it means it will always be clean :-) Hmmmm.

Sounded a bit iffy to me - they also adjusted the accelerator cable (more likely), and I also got some flannel about the warranty etc. I think it was just sour grapes; I wasn't intimidated, though - I'm no stranger to importing cars. Anyway, off topic as the car is now fixed and goes like poo off a shovel :-) Needless to say I will be getting that lid down ASAP!!!!! You can see some photos of it - I am owner 471. Yes -they are all wet, but since Sat 16 May when I got the car, we haven't had a dry day :-(

Mine seems to rev a little too low on idle. maybe 770rpm? Occasionally the car has a little 'shudder' because it is gettign blimin' low --- then some computer chips comes into play and it puts it up to maybe 815rpm for a second or two.

Yes if you rev it a little in neutral then take your foot off ... it seems to hang around at the higher revs for about 1 second longer then I would have thought before falling again -- no idea why this is!
