But i was looking last night and the wiper and light sensors seem to run striaght into the housing where the inside light is, but i think you could still run the wire easily around the windscreen and under the dash, i shall be buying one to try out

The assembly that the mirror is attached to, which contains the small box for the headlamps/wiper sensor comes off quite easily. Just slide it down the windscreen towards the bonnet and after 1" or so it will come away. There are no wires or gubbins attached to this part. There is enough room to get the small GPS antenna in this assembly, and run the cable up and into the head lining. I tried this configuration however the GPS antenna doesn't pick up as well as it does when placed between the black box and the head-lining (and it's quite unobtrusive there too). I've run out of time but it looks simple enough to run that cable with either the courtesy light (which seems to go left) or the sensor and radio aerial loom (which seems to go right).
