Just got my CC last friday and I'm as happy with it as anyone can be, until today that is.

When I bought the car I knew the rear seats were going to be more or less useless but I thought they would do for short trips with small adults with the front seats adjusted a bit to the front.

When I tried this today I discovered to my surprise that in order for the front seat to lock into position after folding the back of the front seat forward, you would have to move the seat all the way to the back, no matter what position the seat was in before, which is almost impossible if someone is seated in the back seat.

Is it supposed to be like this or is there a work around to this problem ?

Actually this is not the case....

The seat has a memory function...
So it will try and get back to its original position after you have moved it back and forth...

Your problem is that the seat was set right back to start with so wen u move it foward.. and sum1 gets it.. and try to move it back.. it cannot move to its original position (because of the guys legs) .. and hence slides around.

TRICK:
(now read carefully )
move the seat a few notches foward BEFORE tilting it foward... <make sure its locked into its new position) then tilt foward and let the guy (or gal) enter.. then tilt back to original position.. make sure the original position has enuff legroom for the guy at the back so that the seat can relock in that position AFTER he/she/it has got in ))
hope this helps

Hmm, I thought I tried this but it still didn't work.
Well I'll investigate this further on both the driver and passenger seat. Something is definitly wrong, either the seat or my brain.

Thanks Farouk.

I'm relived to say that it wasn't my brain malfunctioning (worried there for a bit).
The drivers seat is OK but the passenger seat seems to be faulty. I guess I'll pop down to my local Pug garage next week and have it fixed together with the passenger rear window which sometimes refuses to come back up.

Just to let you know Peugeots are renound for having crap seats that jam and don't do what they are sposed too!
I had major problems with the seats in my old 206. It can be quite dangerous as they sometimes don't jam in the runners after u have tilted it forward and put back into place.
Take it to your dealer!

That's not true. I don't know for other models, but the leather seats of the cc are state of the art, and this complexity (memories, etc) may upset some owners that have never used backet seats before.

No to disparage anyone, but 'state of the art' i think is stretching it a little bit far.

State of the art would be super thin molded carbon fibre seats with a maxi comfortable leather trim that gave more room in the back, with seat back pockets for the map.

Hi All
went out in cc today as weather was gorgeous and husband hadnt driven new cc yet. Reluctantly allowed him in drivers seat. He had cheek to grapple around looking for electric seat adjustment!!!!!!!!! Just because his Volvo S60 has electrically adjustable seats. Still he was impressed with the drive. I on the other hand was relegated to the back seat for the entire journey as teenage daughter "has" to sit in the front. Life isnt fair sometimes!!!!!

Dont let your kids take liberties, send her to the back. ACtually, better yet you drive your daughter at the front and shove ur hubby at the back

I seem to have had some similar problems to Julia with my leather seats. I have to check when adjusting my seat as it doesn't always lock into the runners first time. There's a danger of flying forward at the lights - maybe some kind of ejector seat concept?

I have also taken my Pug back to the dealers because the folding mechanism kept failing to lock into place after allowing my daughter into the back. I was told by my dealer that kids usually muck up the seat mechanism.

I may be a big kid but reckon the folding/adjusting seat mechanism isn't that good on my Pug, I also suspect its not just me.

More seat related drama......
day after i took delivery i was sat at Harwich ferry port waiting to board and started 'playing' with drivers seat...reclined it back, heard a "clunk" leaned forward and seat back followed. Unable to get it to lock so had to drive from the Hook of Holland to Celle (nr Hannover) with sports bag on the rear seat to lean back into for support. This was on Good Friday so unable to get to a dealer till following Tues. Just about to take it down when seat somehow locked in again. Bizarre!

I find it is only possible to change the position of a front seat (forwards/backwards) IF YOU ARE SITTING IN IT (i.e. you can't move the passenger seat while sitting in the driver's seat and vice versa. Even if it moves it doesn't lock in the new position).

To make room for a back seat passenger's knees you have to get someone to sit in the front seat first and slide it forward using the rail under the seat, then get out and tilt the back forward by pulling the side lever forward. When you then tilt the back back again, the seat does seem to remain in the correct position.

I have also had the problem with the backrest not staying in the desired position and springing back & forward after adjustment. Again, if you sit in the seat and slide back & forward a few times it seems to reset itself.

It all points to a shoddy seat folding mechanism

i think this is the problem:

1. you move the lever to the right to access the rear seats.

2. to make it easier to get into the rear seats, you use the lever under the seat to move it forward.

if you do like this, the chair won't lock. instead you just have to pull the chair forward and not use the lever under the seat.
