1) SLK's engine that lifts up the boot cover is quiet.

2) SLK needs no manual operation

3) If you hold the button down after the roof went up -- the windows went up as well

4) SLK didn't nick their ideas from the SLK (!!).

5) SLK is 0.6 seconds quicker!

6) Current shape SLK belongs in the 80s

7) SLKs are for middle-age women, and hairdressers ..

8) Then again, cc's are for steers or queers (so which are you boy!)

9) SLK is thirstier

10) SLK is faster

11) SLK is more expensive

12) They don't need to give away an allan key with an SLK

13) One word -- depreciation!

14) SLK doesn't pull the girlies

15) Nor does the Peugeot

16) But thats because I'm ugly

17) Peugoet isn't as blatently show-off (this is a good thing)

18) Insurance. Need i say more

19) SLK doesn't have a back seat

20) Peugeot has a back seat so big you could fit every MAN UTD supporter from Manchester in it.

"The 401 D Eclipse, the first Coupe-Cabriolet to be manufactured in small series, was launched at the 1934 Paris Auto Show with the words, "In just a few seconds the roof slides into the boot, turning the closed Coupe into an open tourer."

"The SLK (stands for sportlich, leicht and kurz)is not a new car, it's a new version of the 190 SL, which was introduced in New York in the year 1954, 1955 the production began.
25.881 cars of this type were produced and even big filmstars such as Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra were acting besides this roadster in the movie "High Society".

Wasnt pug the first manufacturer with a folding steel roof? The SLK is the only merc i would ever vaguely consider - their entire range other than that can be matched up with a considerably better buy BMW!

The roof construction of the 206CC was used in the 1934 Peugeot 401 D Coupé for the first time. (ok by the time i've looked this up Mr Awol beat me to it.. :( )

But for the rest the Mercedes is just a better car. And when you look at the new model of the SLK that is coming up... Robbie can even make me jealous with that one ;)

Don't get me wrong, i'm very happy with my CC. But the Merc is just of a higher standard!

You don't compare a Fiat Punto Convertible with a Bentley Azure?
(although it would win on milage per gallon :D )

Whilst I would never buy BMW on general principle :P

Practical stuff:

CC has a bigger boot
