Hi All,

A conundrum, I currently have a CC with no leaks. Hurray you all say (except those that can't get them fixed.) But the windows rattle a little bit, no really enough to annoy me majorly once the music is on or the top is down.

So do I get the windows looked at to get the door alignment fixed, possibly running the risk of getting leaky doors or just just put up with a small rattle.
Answers on a postcard.

technically you should get it fixed but it's a bit risky

my minor leak turned into a multi angled shower - because they tried to fix it.

derek

p.s. not wanting to put you off or anything

2 of our cars were 'fixed' and came back worse.

the third and final car is just going back. Do Not Fix, it just makes it worse.

hi obi

how frustrating you ask a simple question and get the wrong answer.

you said you had no leaks right ? just squeeky noise from the windows. Ok very easy to fix, simply get down to helfords and purchase a yellow can of spray water dipersmant or silicon. simply spray on a cloth and wipe over the black rubber rim of the rubber around the doof of your 2066cc where the windows touch the car. no more squeeks. do this each time you wash the car.

With rattling windows, it could be due to the doors being incorrectly angled against the seals, mine certainly improved when I had my doors realigned. I guess it depends how much they rattle, if its not too bad, I'd suggest live with it (maybe try silicon lubricant but not sure that solves rattles as well as squeaks). I'm sure someone will let you know if it does. If its really getting on your nerves, try to find a local dealership who have a good record with CCs, ask any other members in the forum who live in your area.
