Hello all
I am new to the site although I have been reading the discussion pages with great interest since last October. Now I am going to put the cat among the pigeons and just say, I think this is a fantastic site, well done to Lyndon....... although my concern is that some of the problems listed by members are tedious and are damaging the reputation of this fantastic car.
Also, please remember most of the faults reported are for the 2001 car, and like all other manufactures, the first lot until complaints are made and improvements are applied, always have teething problems. Just think of this as being the price you have to pay for having been seen in one of the first ones on the road, which for me was great fun and priceless in itself. Even with a couple of leaks!
I am now on my second 206cc and I have noticed Peugeot have taken our criticisms on board and improved things on the 2002 model.
Come on forum members lets be a bit more positive....

Hi Sag
couldnt agree more. I have had 2 ccs as well both the 2001 and 2002 model. The new one has quite a few small refinements on it so Peugeot are learning gradually. The biggest difference for me is the stereo which is so much better than the old one. I have been happy with both my cars despite a few small niggles. you get these on all cars not just 206ccs. Every time i get in the car and lower the roof I just think what a geat car I have and how I wouldnt swap it for anything (except another one!!!!)
Liz

out of interest what colours have you had?

Hi Sag
I had a Cayman Green with green/ black cloth first time. Liked the green but wanted leather and thought the black quite boring after the green interior so went for Moonstone with red/black leather this time. Really pleased with it. I get just as many compliments as with the old one! Like Blue too and silver!

why are the 2001 specs so much better? would rob agree? I missed the new spec by a month so surely my 2001 spec cant be much worse in terms of build quality. Ive been in a new spec and apart fom the steering wheel ,multiplex and radio(which i have replaced anyway ) it doesnt seem much different. Fair point though sag , as i said in an earlier post I love my cc, just I hope the teething settles down! Just remember that the experiances of people like rob must surely take the shine off owning a CC for these poor people.

to say posts have been negative could be confused with the fact that the posts are also true and accurate.
my initial CC was 2002, built in november 01 and a complete lemon and multiplexing faults were the least of my worries. also ask rob if he thinks the 2002 spec cars are so special compared to 2001.
enough said i think.

Hey SAG
Great post, to many negative comments on here about a great car, kriky what do people expect for 16 grand, why not go out and spend twice as much on a less practical slk, with only 2 seats ? or better than that a lexus sc430 also with 4 seats but costs the same as 4 x 206cc. ( yep that is right nearly 60 grand ) of course you could even spend 80 grand on a car like the new merc sl with the same amazing roof mechanisim, then i really would would have a raeson to complain if I had a leak or scratch on the dashboard.
come on 206cc forum ....lighten up and give this car the credit it deserves.
Well done Peugeot !!!

Ok Derek
I know you had a bad one and I am not saying all the 206cc are perfect. Although, with some persuasion Peugeot looked after you and eventually did the right thing, and I am sure they will with Rob 2. I know its frustrating, but be realistic for just one moment, I cant think of any other car company that publicly accept where they have gone wrong, or would exchange a car without some sort of discussion / evidence except mayby Daewoo, and who want one of them and also, didnt they go broke !?

sag,
my dealer replaced my car at their expense(credit to them). peugeot couldn't care less and still have that attitude.
there was also plenty of evidence of the problems and a lot of discussion

Tings have got a bit negative because the car we all love have problems.
Things like the leaks, startermotor and other electrican faults has been a problem for more then one or two members.... and will be as long as Peugeot don't do anything with it. And for us that have had those problems, sharing experience and solutions has been a great help.
Is it all the complaints from the customers that made the changes at the 2002 modell??? No of course not. How many of you with the 2001 modell complained to Peugeot because the car didn't had multiplexing??
And one more thing, are there more faults on the 2001 modell?? Sag, where on earth do you have this from??
I hope we still can help each other with sharing things we have in common (read problems and solutions) beside all the other activity on this forum. Saying all this I also have to say Im a bit bored with all the monkey stuff...
Wonder if Sag is going to sell since the reputation is so important ?
(its a joke!)

I agree there are a lot of negative comments on here.
But surely it is better that people buy this car knowing all the facts. I had an e-mail from someone the other week hwho said they would like one but it would be a struggle to afford it. They read the forum and then made their mind up.
At least people who buy it now know that they MIGHT (only might) have problems. And if they still buy it then thats better for all of us surely.

totally agree rob. sag would have a valid point if people were saying things about the CC that weren't true but anything stated is simply FACT.
