I'm still negotiating costs with a Peugeot dealer, however, after looking at various websites I've found the cost of a brand new CC varies a lot.

Peugeot originally told me a black 1.6S CC would cost £16,200, but places like 'motorpoint' are charging £13,999

A dramatic difference for the same spec car.

Are Motorpoint vehicles dodgy? imported? or what?

The reason I'm going to Peugeot is because I need to part/ex my old car and I know they'll give me a good deal on it...

Do you reckon Peugeot will do price matching?

:? confused - any help before I commit myself much appreciated..

Imports cost less because of the way the UK market works. As long as they're UK spec, there's nothing dodgy about them; they're exactly the same car as you'd get from a UK dealer.

You may be able to bring the dealer's price down if you're armed with a Motorpoint quote, but there's no way they'll be able to match the price.

And the price does seem to be going up as we get into summer so both importers and dealers and going to be harder to talk into dropping prices. Well, supermarkets don't usualy drop the price but in their case the price seems to be going up. Cheers

It all depends how long you want to keep the car - remember that imports are cheaper to start with but they also trade in for less

UK dealer is fibbing. RRP for a 1.6S is £14,695 + £300 metallic + £960 for the leather pack and + £300 for wheels.

I've just picked mine up today 1.6S, agean blue, leather & sports pack. UK deal worked out better than importers as I got a sensible part ex. (nearly £2k above any importers offer) + a discount on the new car + the full 3 year warranty (last year normally chargable and not a full warranty on imports). Also no worries with import issues with insurance & no problems with UK dealers giving duff info about imports (local dealer already tried the "imports don't work on our diagnostic equipmen"t tact when I tried them for buying!!).

Err, which makes about £16,300 which is about right (£200 for black paint)?

Looking at the price difference between dealer (16.2K) and import (14K) in my mind the prices are pretty close but a couple of months ago you would have got an import for 13K.

Jason

PS if anybody want to buy my Silver 2.0 SE with leather for 14K you can (2 months old, 500 miles) ;)

Yes agreed for the spec I mention.

However the original post says for a black 1.6s which is £14,695 + £275 for black (too early in the day to do the maths :) still sub £15k though). I was just having a guess as to how they'd arrived at the price.

Back on the thread shop around a few dealers UK and import the prices vary wildly as do dealers attitudes to selling.

Ahh, I just took it as read that it had all those options. Certainly 14K for a non-leather 1.6 import would be well over the top.

And yes, you should (almost) never pay full price from a dealer. Cheers

Hi

I've just brought my car from local dealer yesterday. Gets delivered in 3 weeks, no sure i got a good price though

15.6K for 2.0 litre with full leather seats and alloys, sports pack etc?

I rang round a load of dealers in north of england and got various quotes ranging from 16.5 to 15.6,

what is the normal price on 2.0 with all mod cons??

My car is about 2 weeks old.

2 litre Silver CC. Full all the extras .. leather and all. They chucked in 206 floor mats.

Brand new with 6 miles on clock.. total price £14,650.

Only thing is .. the manual is in Spanish! Apart from that UK spec car. Oh and I didn't have to wait more then 5 days to get it!

Just been looking at the Jamjar website. I got my car from them 2 years ago. I had to keep on their backs to get my car on time, but it did arrive when they said it would and that was when a lot of dealerships were struggling to meet deliveries. Anyway they are selling new UK cars with over £1000 off at the moment and they also do part exchanges, although they do not give the best price in the world for PX'es. It is possible to get a quote for your part exchange online. A 2.0 SE costs £15065 a saving of £1130 off of list. £200 extra for black paint, although no extra cost for metallic for some reason. Must be a mistake? £700 for leather interior.

1.6s are for sale at £13475 a saving of £1220 all extra options are the same price as dealership prices. Also for some reason on the 1.6 the leather option is more than the 2.0 SE at £960. I can’t make that
out.

So that makes £15,600 from a dealer for a silver 2.0SE with leather a good deal? Well done "CyberMonkey"! Cheers

Don't discount main Peugeot dealers - my blue 2.0 SE, full leather etc, brand new cost me £14170 from MSF Pug in Leeds.

Being a UK car it has the full 3 years warranty, 1 year AA cover and an English manual ;)
