It took me a few hours, but I've finally installed my Pioneer DEH-P7450MP MP3 head unit. Spent most of my time trying to work out why it didn't power up after connecting up all the "correct" wires.
My 2.0 CC was manufactured 12/02.
What I initially connected:
Speakers are straight forward - as per the wiring diagram for plug "B" on page 110 of the manual.
As for plug "A". I connected:
Nokia Car kit's yellow mute wire to the Pioneer's (Yellow/Black) mute - OK
A?: Orange wire to the Pioneer's Illumination (Orange) wire - not sure if this is infact the illumination wire, don't see any effect.
A8: Earth (Green/Black) to the Pioneer's earth (Black) - OK
A7: Permanent (white wire - not sure why there's two wires leading into this ISO plug, but only one has power) to the Pioneer's (Yellow) battery wire - OK
A6: Accessory/Ignition (Yellow) to the Pioneer's Accessory/Ignition (Red) wire - PROBLEM!!
It seems A6 doesn't connect at all, hence the unit didn't power up.
Finally.... decided to try out the last two remaining wires (Red and Blue). The blue end up giving me a good enough Ignition feed even though this is the one that stays on for another 1-2 mins after pulling out the key, and also comes on when you unlock the door via remote.
This is not the perfect solution, but one that will do for the time being. I've read I should get a 'normal' ignition feed from say the cigarette lighter, but how do I get into there?
Also, how do I connect up the radio stalk to the head unit once my adaptor arrives from the UK via SeMe?
Finally got my Pioneer MP3 ICE installed

OK, take the illumination wire from the bulb under the ashtray. Yuo can fnid out how to take the ashtray by looking through the manual. You should he able to feed a wire down from the headunit area to the ashtry fairly easily. If you have problems then you can take the plastic dash out by first pulling the top bit off (by the display) then unscrewing two screws underneath and pulling the rest of the dash out. You probably won't ened to do this though.
As for the ciggy lighter for the ignition power, feed the wire to the ashtray then round by the gearstick (you can just pull the gear stick surround out) to the ciggy lighter. I had problems getting the lighter out, so take out the electric window control (again, just unclip it out) and you can get to the wire underneath there.
Good luck, have fun!

hi
have you fitted your stalk control yet and if so is it ok?
Im looking to put a pioneer head unit in mine and wondered if you got everything done easy enough?
Also does you stalk control also keep you display?
Someone mentioned Pioneer now do a wire for the display. If so where can I get it?
