Only filled my new cc up a few times...but each time I've noticed that although the pump automatically switches off to indicate a full tank my gauge stops just short of full!
Today I squeezed a wee bit more in after shutoff but still the same thing...only a niggle I suppose but I like that satisifying "Full Up" moment (which, let's face it, doesn't last long with this level of fuel consumption!)
Hi Deborah
Yep this is a common prob with the CC. It has been mentioned before - cant remember the result. Try doing a search (top left of screen) and see what you can find!

I have that problem with 80% of the petrol pumps I use, and it's really frustrating!!! Quite often the pump clicks off as soon as I squeeze the handle even when the tank is totally empty.
Best bet is to only squeeze the handle halfway so the petrol goes in slower.
I've been back to the garage about this and they just say "it's one of those things". One of those VERY annoying things though!!!
Your welcome Deborah

In all honesty there isnt much we haven't covered so ask away!
Sorry to hear about your leather. My best friend scratched my leather (glovebox) while picking up her handbag from the footwell and I have coloured it in with a felt tip pen!) Doesn't sound like that will work for yours though - sorry.
My work has its own pumps and I still cannot "fill" the car. The monkeys have replaced the sender unit on the tank and will not do it again. I tried for several minutes filling slowly, and despite having petrol right up to the top so you could see it in the filler neck the needle was still 1/2 mm offf the top
I hold the pump horizontal when filling up and that normally lets you get another £3-£4 in and that always takes it to full for me and Derek i'm really upset now as i filled up today for 79.9p today

O often have that problem. I filled up last weekend on the way to my parent, the petrol was much cheaper there so topped it up again. This time it filled right to the top. managed to get over 400 miles out of the tank. I have never got anywhere near that before

400 miles out of a tank I think I am doing something wrong I only get 300 ish. I am not hard on the car (Honest I still have original tyres with plenty of tread after 20,000m) although somebody mentioned better fuel consumption after the 20k oil change maybe that will help when it visits the zoo next week. Fuel around my area is 77.9 by the way.
