Apologies if anybody has mentioned this already but I've been away from the forum for a while.
I've had a problem with my brakes squeaking for a while and the car has been back to the dealers for the brakes to be 'cleaned' and also for a second visit where they were treated with a substance to reduce the build up of brake dust.
None of these solutions worked even for a day, and I have been pushing my service manager for a solution. I have now been told that Peugeot are fitting replacement 'Shandford' grooved brake pads to try to rectify this fault - the criteria for this repair under warranty is that the vehicle must be under 6 months old or under 6000 miles.
I have been informed that this is an official fix and a technical document has been released to all dealers. I am due to have these new pads fitted in two weeks and will let you know the outcome.
Cheers Lyndon, although I have to admit that it's not a CC it's only an XSi, but anyway, got the car back and it's squeak-free by the looks of it, they've also given the brake discs a good clean.
The job sheet says "warranty service newsletter 1085"

oh thought that you had a CC, hope the brakes are still squeek free in a few weeks
I think the dealer also hopes that it stays squeak free, I don't think they really want to see me yet again!!!! Maybe the car will turn into a CC overnight to redeem myself though I did go topless on Tuesday evening, but that was in a friend's 360 spider
I've been given the following further info from a peugeot mechanic, who says:
re the squeaky brakes... in the last week and a half or so, peugeot have released a modified type of brake pad that is SUPPOSED to combat the squeak on all the 206s with that braking system (GTi, cc and DT i think) so far it seems to have been successful unlike the other recommendations they've made to us! Since this part number has been released in a kind of peugeot technical bulletin, changing the pads to quieten them down(if not worn out) should be covered by warranty for the full warranty period (not just the 6months/6000m which is the normal cover for break squeal) so go and see your dealer again and ask!
Mine is booked in for Thursday - so fingers crossed.
I've got a 206SW (1.6 XS) for a weekend (my CC was in dealer's weekend show).
Guess what, squeaky brakes
And minor rattle from dashboard. But generally it was a nice car
My girlfriend likes it too, so now we are considering even in some day to buy a 206SW (1.6xs)
First they denied any recall / fix for the pads. When I quoted the job no in the thread he reluctantly told me that in mid march a directive was released that stated pads would be changed as a goodwill gesture providing the car was less than 6 months old , mines now 8 mths old.
I read to them a passage from their warranty manual stating parts are covered for the full warranty period , in my case 1 year. They responded by stating that the squeal is not a defect so is only covered by a goodwill period which they have set at 6 months.
I then told them that after a week of owning the car i took the car in for the brake squeal to be sorted out which was well within their goodwill period . They responded that the directive was not issued until march, before then there was no procedure in place for replacement of pads.
They told me that i have unfortunately not qualified for this 'recall' due to the age of the car , can they do this as the car was 6 1/2 months old before they set the goodwill period of 6 months ? immediately disqualifying me from it ???????????????????
