just got off the phone from trying to book in my car for its 6 month checkup and for a replacement weather seal on drivers side (it has cracked!) and have found out that Straightway is moving to Brighton and selling only Citroen and someone else has bought the Peugeot arm off them.
The new owners will be moving into the current Straightway location.
Anyone got a recommendation for another dealer, preferably on the eastern side of the city (melb)?
thanks,
Ian

Well if you're talking eastern side, I guess there's only Regan in Balwyn and John Blair in Toorak.
My only experiences with either of these dealers was when I was shopping for quotes for my CC. Regan came up with the best competitive quote of anybody. John Blair were not as competitive and in the second fax I got from them, the salesman was downright rude. That reminds me I must get around to posting about that on here to diss them.
The other alternative you have is City Peugeot, in Elizabeth St, North Melbourne, if that's more convenient than Balwyn. My salesperson (Erica) was excellent, as was the service manager (Maurice). They've been more than helpful on the only few occasions I've had to contact them.
Let us know how you get on.
Cheers.

I got this news several weeks ago. You're correct they're moving and setting up a Citroen shop in Brighton. My understanding of the reason for it is that Peugeot required a significant investment in upgrading the dealership in terms of the building. I plan to stay with the new dealership, at least will give them a try. I'm not sure what timing is but will check into it and get back to you.
Cheers

thanks for the replys Matt and Frosty. if all goes well, apparently the new people will be in by this Monday.
ill most likely give the new lot a try unless i cant get in for a while.
what oil are you running in your car Frosty? im assuming it will be the same as mine. 0-40W Mobil 1 synthetic is what i was told, but cant seem to find it anywhere. need about 500ml for a topup....
bye,
Ian

Yep Mobil 1 is the way to go. I used to work in the oil industry and can tell you confidently that full synthetic is the way to go. I haven't gone looking for any, but you should be able to get Mobil 1 at any Mobil station. If you have further problems let me know and I'll make a call.
I haven't even checked my oil (will do so tomorrow). I'm running on a 6 month service cycle and given there's no drips in my driveway I've assumed all's ok. I plan to do a big time wash and polish touch up tomorrow so will check and let you know how mine looks. From a driving perspective it's running beautifully! Love the car to bits, and have to say the ICE upgrade has paid itself off 10 times over.
