Hooray!!

Picked up my black SE on Friday night after a what seems like an AGE of waiting! Well worth it though....I fell in LURVE instantly, the weather's been great and I am the happiest Easter bunny there is......!

I need help on the following if anyone knows the answers, please!

1 Is there any legitimate reason why Motorpoint exposed the key code on that plastic card which came with my spare key? As it says in the manual that the card should be scratched only if necessary to recode a key I was a bit worried to see my "secret" code there for all to see!

2 Oil levels...on start up I'm told that the oil is at its maximum level and I checked the dipstick....it was a wee bit above max. My manual says this could damage my engine...do I really need to go to a dealer about this now as it says??!

3 I've got a bleedin stone chip ALREADY! :( It's tiny, about the size of an ant. But as it's a black car it's noticeable. Is touch up paint easy to use or am I going to end up with a big blob of paint...should I get someone to do it professionally and how much might it cost??

I knew I'd be obsessed with the paintwork but it's so glossy and gorgeous I want it always to look as new!

Oooo, thanks everyone!

Congrats! I picked my CC up on Friday night too!

I have also got a stone chip the size of an ant on my bonnet! Not really too bad though on the Aegean blue it doesn't show up as much.

I've done 100 miles already just showing it off to people and crusing round!

Aren't CCs great!

Hello Tig!

Isn't it grand to be posting as an owner, finally! Feels like I'm a right proper forum-ee now! Ha!

Just did a search on the touch up pen thing...mmm, like I should have done in the first place of course.....

I read Robbie's post from about a year ago with the tip about using a cocktail stick to avoid getting too much paint on the brush so will give that a go...

Anyway, Tigger, what are we doing inside posting on here when there's still a bit of sunshine left!!?? I've done 300 miles this weekend (not normal behaviour for me....) Fuel consumption is frankly frightening but I'm not worrying about that for now.....too much fun to be had! :hyper:

1. No legitimate reason at all. I'd ask them about it if I were you - it's possible they could now make spare keys to your car.

2. If it's only slightly above, don't worry about it.

3. Colour Magic Chip Stick is fine. It's still noticable close up, but then so is a touch-up. If you get a chip in an area that's not too noticeable, then you can test a touch-up kit. If you make a good job of that, then you can take the wax out of the other chips and fill 'em properly.

I picked up mine Friday night TOO!!!

Today was gorgeous, sunny, nice, and for the first time in my life heads turned as I drove past!

Also managed to get 4 adults in with just a little squeezing!

God newvous first time I put the roof BACK UP that it was going to clump me on the head!

Enjoy!

Thanks a lot, Alex! I shall find a colour magic chip stick (ARGH..memories of JADE) and give it a go..!

And I'll also ask the question about my keycode...

By the way, when I was waiting for my cc I had a look at all your pics...I like the bits you've done with your car....not too over the top and v. tasteful so it's nice to say hello!

Cheers!

And hello other newbie, Britboy! 4 ADULTS!?

Some garages will expose the code number so that they have it on their records. Then if you lose the card, they can still help you. Nothing to worry about if the garage is reputable.
