Hi,

picked up the car yesterday. Wow sweet amazing pics coming soon.

My manual is in blimin' Spanish.

I've managed to figure out most things .. changed the computer to English -- that kind of thing. Any help with the following? (Some day I'll be able to help other people!).

1) There are 2 buttons where the dials are. The one on the right JUST seems to swap between trip counter and total milage. Does it do anything else.

2) What on earth does the one on the left do? Seems to do bugger all to me!

3) How do I change the computer to show MPG, and the other various functions it can show?

4) What is that red thing (like a key hole thing) down to the side? I don't think I've got anything that would fit it! Some kind of alarm disable or something?

5) In between the two massive buttons at the top (hazard lights and something else) there is a really small red button. What does this do?

6) How do I store a radio station I'm on in the stereo as one of the 1-6 marked buttons?

7) Is there anyway to unlock the boot without physically putting the key in the lock?

8) This makes me sound REALLY stupid -- how do I know its a 2 litre and they haven't palmed a 1.6 off on me without telling me?

9) Can someone give me clear and easy instructions for resetting my spanner service sign thingy next to the total milage?

10) Can't think of a number 10. Er .. thanks!! Oh yea here's one -- Is the first service due at 10000 and will the 'spanner' reminder automatically come on at near that mileage or is the milage it comes on at 'definable'?

Any help as usual massively appreciated. Car has 78 miles on it! Driving slow and carefully round SouthWest London if you see me ...!!

1 - 5 sorry can't help as mine was one of the first CC's in the country and the spec as changed since then.

4- the red key hole thing, as it got a ON and OFF position ? if so it's to disable the passenger airbag if your carrying a baby in the front passenger seat, if no baby this should be set to ON.

6- when you've tuned in a station you like just press and hold on the 1-6 buttons, the sound should mute for a split second or beep, this means it's stored that station

7 - soz but it's key only, unless your good with a soldering iron, microswitches and peugeot computor systems

8 - the 2.0 litre model should come with 16" multispoked alloys as standard plus the exhuast pipe is oval on the 2.0 litre and the 1.6 litre is round OR that's how it was on the old spec.

9 - never fiddled with the spanner bit so soz can't help :(

10 - the first service is due at 6000,miles they just check fluid levels only about 20min job, not unless they have changed the intervals since i got mine.

hope some of these help :D :D :D :D

Q1.What you've said is all righthand button does.
Q2.The right hand button is to reset the service interval (spanner symbol) to do so: switch off ignition , press and hold right hand button, switch on the ignition, the display begins countdown, keep button pressed for 10 seconds, the display shows [=0] and the service symbol disappears, the left hand button is to dim the dials display ( thanks greenday for correcting me).

Q3.Press the button on the end of the wash/wipe stalk enables the following data to be displayed: the range, the distance traveled, the average consumption, the current consumption, the average speed

Q4.Is for disarming the passenger air bag, to ensure the safety of your child, it is essential to dissarm the passenger air bag when you install a rear facing child seat on the front passenger seat to do so follow this: remove the ignition key, insert it into the passenger air bag switch and turn it to the off position, then remove it, maintaining this position, the airbag warning light on the instrument panel is lit throught the disarming process

Hope This Helps and the above posts

8. Open the bonnet and compare pictures in handbook with what you see in front of you.

1) There are 2 buttons where the dials are. The one on the right JUST seems to swap between trip counter and total milage. Does it do anything else.

A) Yes, it makes a lovely cappuccino, if you purchased this option

2) What on earth does the one on the left do? Seems to do bugger all to me!

A) It doesn't do anything on Earth, however, on the moon this is your ejector seat button

3) How do I change the computer to show MPG, and the other various functions it can show?

A) By using wizadry and potions

4) What is that red thing (like a key hole thing) down to the side? I don't think I've got anything that would fit it! Some kind of alarm disable or something?

A) It is the key to the Ark of the Covenant

5) In between the two massive buttons at the top (hazard lights and something else) there is a really small red button. What does this do?

A) It is there to make the other buttons look really big.

6) How do I store a radio station I'm on in the stereo as one of the 1-6 marked buttons?

A) Get a big cardboard box and a roll of tape, put radio in box, store in the loft or garage.

7) Is there anyway to unlock the boot without physically putting the key in the lock?

A) Big crowbar or an AK47 does the trick.

8) This makes me sound REALLY stupid -- how do I know its a 2 litre and they haven't palmed a 1.6 off on me without telling me?

A) Yes, you are stupid. :P

9) Can someone give me clear and easy instructions for resetting my spanner service sign thingy next to the total milage?

A) Probably somebody anal on the forum can...

10) Can't think of a number 10. Er .. thanks!! Oh yea here's one -- Is the first service due at 10000 and will the 'spanner' reminder automatically come on at near that mileage or is the milage it comes on at 'definable'?

11) God, what a dull question!

Please take this in the good spirit in which it was intended... ;) [/b]
