Ok - The gorgeous CC arrives on Saturday .. anyone got time to any me some (hopefully) simple 'uns ?

1) If your moving the roof up and suddenly you accelerate to faster then 7 (or whatever it is) mph -- what happens? Does the roof just freeze in ultimate awful half-up half down position, or continue its raising/lowering?

2) Do you need the engine on to use the roof?

3) Any recommendations for ensuring the leather is kept decent (liquid or polishes or wax or something)? Or does it just kind of stay decent of its own accord?

4) How many miles do I need to run it in for, and what does this mean? (<3500 rpm?)

5) If the tyres squeek or the roof leaks - should I run to the dealer screaming 'warranty' ?

6) What happens if you try and lower the roof when those clip things are still attached? Does it whirr awfully as the roof motors desperately try and move the (attached) roof?

7) Does the little digital computer do anything apart from trip distance and miles? Anything clever like -- er -- average speed for trip or anything?

8) It says on the web-site 'heated front window'. Does this mean heated by element or heated by fans like every other car (apart from some Fords)?

9) That spray tyre stuff they give you seems a bit pants to me. Discuss!

10) After how many miles is the first service due?

And thats your lot! God I'm getting damn excited about this car I've wanted a convertible for about 10 years now .. finally -- my time has come!

Please let me know the answers to any of the above you can! Much appreciated.

Britboy.

1) The car beeps and the roof stops moving
2) Nope, but it's good to keep the battery full - the roof takes a lot of power
3) Dunno, but would be interested as well!
4) Dealership told me jut to drive it as normal, no run in period. But I didn't accelerate hard or go over 4000 revs for 1500 miles or so
5) Yep! Always run tp the dealer screaming "warranty" - it's what they're there for.
6) It beeps & won't lower until they unclipped. HOWEVER, there are two clip positions - it DOES try and move it back if you only pull the clip back to the first position, just be a bit careful!
7) Yep - Avg speed for trip, Avg MPG, current MPG, distance for trip and distance until you run out of petrol. Oh, and the date ;)
8) Umm.. think it's just heated by fans unless you have a different specd to mine
9) Never had to use it, but there are some nasty stories - doesn't always work, and if you use it Pug will refuse to fix your tyre and make you buy a new one, although some companies will clean the tyre, fix it and let you reuse it
10) 6000 for first free service, then 20k, 40k, 60k etc afterwards

What does that do then Derek?
Is it for protection or cleaning? (or both)
Doesn't it make the Leather slippy or shiny then? (don't like that shiny look)

it cleans a bit but if it requires a lot of cleaning u r supposed to use some leather cleaning thingwy.

it is supposed to care for the leather to stop it getting dried out etc.. it looks quite shiny after u have done it but goes away after about 2/3 days.

i use it about 4 times a year and would recommend it.

Best leather cleaner bar none IMHO is gliptones liquid leather system. 1 bottle for cleaning another for restoring/care.

Not too sure who sells it though as I always get it at car shows.

Conditioner is so good that it will rub into human skin like a moisturiser stops leather cracking etc.

Oh nearly forgot the best bit is reinstates the smell of new leather too :)

as far as i know there are 2 things, a) Leather Cleanner/Conditioner - to clean and soften leather and is use as often as you like. b) Leather protection - more or less like glue, add a moisture resistant layers when set, which make dirt or spills just wipe off easily. Its recommend to use on brand new leather and just to use once, coz if any stain or dirt already exist it will make it set permanantly.

Hello  according to mine......

1) it beeps savagely at you and stops in mid-position until you slow down!
2) apparently not, but I do to save my battery
3) Leather? what's that?
4) Some say just blat it from day one. I waited for 500 miles at under 4k rpm before blatting it everywhere.
5) Tyres squeek - eh? You mean brakes? or the roof leaks YES TO BOTH
6) Wont let you do it, beeps in complaint and nothing happens
7) average speed, average mpg. miles to next fill up, date etc
8) Mine's heated by fans
9) It's pants. Get a spare (funnily enough, I have a space saver rim if you're interested! no tyre though)
10) 6k/6 months then 20k/2 yrs.
