Hi there,

I saw some posts of people who put a whole new brake system on their CC because there were almost no sollutions for the standard squeaking breakes.
I'm thinking about it myself too. But what do i want or need and what's it app. gonna cost?
Are there things i should beware of etc...

it's for a 2.0 16v with 16" ouragans on it...

Thx

hi you dont need a new system .. nothing quite so drastic. you just need drilled and grooved discs to replace the standard ones. this will prevent the pad from galsing and causing the sqeek

i did this , but not for the squeeling but as a braking upgrade.
i also changed the pads for high performance ones
and inspite of what some people say the EBC brake pads are excellent
much better braking, mush less dust and i am on my second set now and the discs are not workn out or anything

here are the part numbers
Front Brake Discs (part number TGD311) = 127.00 per pair
Rear Brake Discs (part number GD615) = 69.50 per pair
Front Brake Pads (part number 21234) = 40.00 per set
Rear Brake Pads (part number 2458/2) = 27.00 per set
notice the /2 at the end of that rear part number, the /1 and the /3 are a different thickness and won't work

Thx to both! :)

I will first look after pauls cure! Can i ask for those disks at my peugeot garage? or do i buy them somewhere else? and what sort of disc do i need then? I'm sure they must have different numbers for different cars?
Do those discs improve your braking also?

Sorry i forgot to tell you where to get them!
i got them all from larkspeed
http://www.larkspeed.com/pages/homepages/home.html

and these are the right model numbers for the 206cc
both the 1.6 and the 2.0
266mm diameter for the front and 248 for the rear
and the pads are also for both 1.6 and 2.0
these discs do NOT improve braking
but they do not get worse if you brake a lot
standard discs will deteriorate if you do a few heavy brakings
these lose the heat quicker so they stand up longer under hard use
if you want better brakes and maybe this is a good first mve
try just replacing the standard peugeot pads with the EBC greenstuff pads
much better braking and less dust
i would say maybe 30% better brakes as the pads have a larger pad area than the standard and they have a higher friction i think .46 instead of .3 or .35 for standard

Well they've fixed my squeaking for now. Using anti-squeak pads...
hope they'll last?

If anyone out there is getting the turbo groove discs from EBC then becareful to order the correct front discs for a 206cc as there are two kinds.

Part Number TGD311 will not fit all 206cc 1.6's as the hub may be too big for some cars. I think any cars after Dec 2002 will be ok with this part number but prior for this date you will need a different disc.

Just check the catalogues at www.ebcbrakes.com

EBC Turbo Groove Discs now fitted to my CC. This has finally cured the squeaky brakes. Not cheap but a solution. :)

does anyone know how you can tell which pads are needed as there are two options with different disc offsets, disc offset 27mm & disc offset 34mm???
I have a 206cc 2.0L 03 reg, does anyone know the correct disc offset size please?

Ok worked out that the disc offset is the total height of the disc if it were removed from the car and layed down flat :)
Has anyone changed a set of rears yet, what type or make of caliper piston wind tool fits the piston?

Any help would be appreciated
