boot will not open - rejection time?

I love my cc to bits but all the niggly problems I have had/ having are starting to eat into my love of the car.
I have discovered today that the boot will now not open when the roof is down . you can hear it unlock but it will not open . I have no such probs when the roof is up.

I am now seriously thinking of getting rid. I have had my car 6 months this week and have worked out that for 10% of that time it has been back at the dealers leaving me carless as they never have any courtesy cars. I have had: a defective bumper -3 visits , a clunking from the rear of the roof, engine cut out several times, a faulty LED brake light twice , car groaning at 2800 revs - 3 visits later still not fixed, a faulty seal that has been on backorder 6 months and finally a drivers side window that will not fit properly.
Now the boot will not open it is about to push me over the edge . Has anyone else had a problem opening the boot with the roof down?
Has anyone got any advice on what my next move should be.? I do love the car and cant wait for the summer months to enjoy it but it just seems to be one fault after another?

as far as rejection goes, that's something for you to take up with your dealer - i've been down that road already.

as far as a courtesy car goes i have been down that road on this forum a few times. try and be a bit forceful. i would NEVER accept not getting a courtesy car and when it is pre-arranged it must be a model i am satisfied with. when my CC went in for the first repair that was supposed to be 2 or 3 hours - i then got told it would be all day. long story but i demanded a courtesy car as i wasn't waiting. there wasn't one available but you can be sure i got one.

remember who the customer is and how much you paid for your car - quite simple.

sorry, just remembered another fault. The brakes kept sticking and I thought I wasnt going to stop. After Three visits they decided to replace the master cylinder. I think that pushes my percentage of days without the car upto 11% !!

a bit away from the 46% of ownership that my CC spent at the dealer before rejection - i guess at least i had a courtesy car for that 46% mind you

Tell, them if not, your going to hire a car for the duration and send them the bill through your solicitors, that'll get them moving!!

My boot wouldn't open with the roof down the day I picked my car up. The plastic shelf behind the roll hoops wasn't tilting as it was warped. They pinched the panel off one of the demo vehicles, only took a couple of minutes.

I think with the car being six months old you might get an argument trying to reject the car but that's up to your dealer. As for courtesy cars, they must have them but don't expect to be offered one, you need to insist.

I too had the boot problemo. Was solved after three visits by changing lock barrel mechanism. Fairly straight forward once the problem was diagnosed. PM me for more details of the fix if you want them.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Got the boot fixed. the trim on the inside of the boot was warped so when the roof sat in the boot it was crushing the trim making it impossible to open the boot. I was very forcefull yesterday and as a result they fixed my car 1st time for a change .

I now wait for my next visit - I should be more optimistac but I cant be!
