Two possibilities:

1) The ignition & permanent live 12v feeds are the wrong way round. On my Kenwood you can change these round easily.

2) If it's a multiplexed CC then you don't have a reliable ignition feed - you'll have to take a wire off the cigarette lighter (lots of psots about this on the forum!).

Also, does the display on your kenwood go dim if you turn the lgihts on (as it should)? If not, you definitely have multiplexed CC and you'll have to source an seperate lighting feed (I used the ash tray light)

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the advice!

Yes, the display on my Kenwood does go dim when I turn the lights on. So do this mean the iginition and perment live are the wrong way round.

On the wiring harness there are 2 wire's, yellow (battery) and red (ignition). If I swap these two wire round, will this solve the problem :?:

Regards.

James

Ah sounds like there's hope then! Yes, swap the red & yellow ones around.
