The 20,000 mile service interval seems a mite excessive to me, even if that is what the manufacturers reccomend.

Does anyone have their car checked out (oil, brakes, etc.) mid-way between the real services?

Vince.

There's even a place in the service book for it to get a stamp for these intermediate services. The fluid check is ment to be free and you can pay for an optional "safety check" where they check pads etc.

Out of interest has anyone taken there car for just the fluid check and still had their book stamped. I can see a situation where they'll only stamp it if you pay for the safety test. Cheers
