I've now done 1500 miles in my CC and when i got it is told me it was 15000 until my next service, now i've done the 1500 miles it says my next service is in 14800, either am really bad at maths or something is not quite right with those sums,

Anyone else had this problem (if it is a problem)?

Not sure about Peugeot but BMW's service indicator adapts to how the car is driven (eg number of times started from cold Vs number of miles done). If the Peugeot is the same it may have just changed it's mind as it's getting more "data" from your driving habits.

I work for a garage and have seen 9 206 saloons (3 non multiplex 6 were) return for a new dash unit under warranty because of erratic service mileages. They randomly over/under calculated mileages. However of the 20+ CC's we have sold none have had this. Check with your dealer to see if they are adaptive to your driving habits if not get them to check it out.

Cheers, that would be cool if it adapted to driving habits but wouldn't that void the warrenty if you followed the instructions of that indicator as if mine carries on the same way its not going to recommend a service until its got about 25k on the clock

Do you need to take it to a Peugeot for for the Fluid checks to keep the warrenty valid?

Not sure. I just flicked through the manual and couldn't find a statement confirming or denying (maybe someone else knows?).

The fluid check is free. They will offer (read push for) an optional safety check which you have to pay for to check break pads etc.

There are entries in the service record for a dealer to stamp these intermediate services. cheers

Jason

PS My books service book goes

6K - first
20K - main
30K - intermediate
40K - main

etc etc

That's a good point. If Peugeot wanted the car every 2 years or 20K and it was an adaptive service interval then they could (well should really) have built that into the system (so it's shows 10K at the most to the next service after a year). So in theory the only person it helps is someone who is doing masses of cold engine work and you get given "the spanner" early i.e. you never do less servicing, only more! :)

To be honest, my personel choice would be to have it serviced on the 10/20K limits no matter what the spanner is showing. I can't really complain at having it serviced every two years. It it came on earlier I'd also have it done but I'd like some explanation from the dealer as to why it has (my car just drives under "normal"conditions"). Sort of like the computers "miles till you run out of petrol" function. Once the petrol gauge shows less than an 1/8 I'd rather just it fill it up rather than trust the computer to tell me "5 miles to go"! Cheers
