Oops sorry, with all those great suggestions i was a bit embarassed to tell you what i'm getting. Wow Lotus, BMW etc
Well, we've had nothing but trouble with our cars, the Alfa has been in and out of the dealers with a number of stupid faults, none of which are covered by the so called warranty.
So decided we'd put on our sensible hats and decided on reliability rather than style. Test drove a 307 dessel!! didn't like it. Then test drove a Toyota Corolla, and it was such a confortable ride, so was about to sign for the 1.4 95 bhp model. When suddenly we saw a 9 month old Corolla T sport with £4000 off list. So you can guess which one i went for!
Is drives really well, as good as the alfa if not better, quality of an audi, speed of a Type R. A bit ugly in the looks department but hey you can't have everything, especailly for that price.
Ps Sorry to disapoint, but at least Robbie did guess that car

I sold my Alfa 156 Selespeed as Alfa wouldn't sell me a warrenty! I imported it (1 year Alfa warrenty) and then bought the 2 extra years dealership warrenty and the Mastercare Warrenty (which is meant to take the dealer warrenty up to manufacture warrenty). At the time I was told I could extend it after the two years.
When I tried to extend it I was told I could if it was any other model than the Selespeed! Not only that when I was at a Mazda dealer asking about trade in they rang up the local Alfa dealer to underwrite the trade in value. They didn't care it was an import but as soon as the guy said Selespeed they said they weren't interested!
I can't believe that a car manufacture can "bad mouth" it's own car so much! And for the record, yes, my gearbox went wrong after 9 months, hence my desire for warrenty!
Anyway, sold the car privately with 1 months warrenty left and ordered the 206cc and hence I'm here! Cheers

Nope not a skoda and i'd probably never buy one, will take a lot to convince me otherwise.
As for sales not giving a shit. We took the alfa to check an intermittent fault on the speedo (Ie it would stick on 50 mph when you start up the car) Couldn't find the fault after a week with the car. So after slagging off the car to our salesman (funny as a couple were just signing their contract) asked him for a trade in value. Did he every call with a price...like hell did he.
Always fancied a 147 but not anymore.
Lets hope toyota's are as realiable as people say
