I cleaned the 206 today followed by my old citroen AXGT for which I am selling sometime next week. Hopefully!.

After I cleaned my CC, myself and the miss's decided to go out.
When we got back I discovered on the boot, a hudge, white, round blob of Birdy poo/crap/waste/mess/ :censored: !
I cleaned that car for three and a half hours! and then a bird decides to empty his/hers guts all over it! Incredible!

Reply optional but just wanted to express my anger!.
I heard bird poo isn't good for paint?

Chris.

P.s It's off the car now.
and I shoot the bird down.   (I wish)

Thats typical I am sure the birds watch, wait for you to finish then let rip. :x
You should remove the mess asap as it can scar paint if left on it too long:!:

it's very bad for paint. i always carry a cloth in the back of the car for that eventuality.

If its black like my old Pug then the birds will always use the car for dive bomb practise no matter what you do, so like me you'll have to accept it an carry a cloth round with you, dark blue apparently frightens birdies so they evacuate themselves over blue paintwork

Well the car is Black. So if a stick blue lables all over the car, they won't poo on the car.

Arrrggghh I have stickers all over my new car thanks to Robbie

well bird poo is not good because the food they ate are from the ground and the poo also have a little tiny stone or rock in it. But make sure you don't wipe it with anything, which it will eventually scratch your car. But you can use a high pressure pump and spray on it so nothing will get scratch.

I used a piece of spamspam towl with luke warm water.
Didn't see any stones in it, although to be honest I didn't really study it like maybe I should have done.

But I can see your point about little stones they may have eaten.

This is a common mistake ands could be the cause of scratches to your paintwork.

Best not to use abrasive cloths such as household J - cloths or the likes of spamspam towls cos the latter is made of paper and paper is made of wood which scratches, sorry, best to use a non-abrasive cloth, you can buy rolls of the stuff from Halfords cheaply.

I think the pug paintwork is soft as cheese. I never bothered wiping bird poo off my old Renault and it was always fine. Then one bird poos on my CC and I didn't see it until next day - and it had already blistered the lacquer   What do the birds eat is Slough? Grrrrrrr. So I've keep a bottle of water in the boot for washing off bird poo and topping up washer bottle if I run out :)

I thought it was me going mad....i too suspected the peugeot paintwork was somewhat "soft" compared to other cars, but never said anything here for fear of being called a mentalist.

I think it pays to have Diamondbrite or similar protective coating, bird crap is guaranteed not to corrode it.

Actually, Diamond Brite is guaranteed as long as you clean it within 24 hours. Still better than having it unprotected though, and I'm sure it would actually protect longer than 24hrs.

Yep, often go on holiday sometimes for weeks, both mercs always have a lot of dried bird crap on when I return, both are diamondbrited, I clean it off easily with a quick wipe of the cloth, no marks etc.
