Hi All,
Can anybody tell me what could cause a Catalytic Converter Fault / Antipollution Fault please?
I have had both displayed this morning - phoned my local Peugeot Service Dept, and booked in for Wednesday.
Is the car still safe to drive....the Engine Diags light is also lit.
Cheers
Lee

Lee, Have you washed your car recently? If yes, there is a possibility that the water has overflowed from the drainage channel onto you computer. If this is the case, it should be OK to drive, but this may invalidate your warranty?
This happened to me a while ago. I had it taken in on a flatbed (on advice of the dealer), and all they did was change the plugs / reset the computer. I didn't know the cause at the time (and I can't remember if it had been raining)
The fault re-occurred this week, the day after washing it. After looking at some threads in this forum, I found others with the same problem, i.e. engine spluttering, cat fault and antipol fault. I rang the dealership, who said try running it for a day - they assured me the warranty would not be invalidated. This I did. The cat fault went after one run, the antipol fault went after 1 day, after which the yellow engine icon on the main dash went from flashing to solid. Today (3 days later) the engine icon was not displayed at all!
I think I will spray the comp with WD40 (the box on the left of the engine compartment, with grey clips on), and heighten the water channel above it with some rubber clip on trim!
Check out other discussions, searching on Converter. Hope this helps! Ant

Ant: Thanks for the reply....No - car has not been washed, and seeing at the weather has been god over the last few days, not a drop of water has even touched it!
It's odd - I was out in it yesterday and it was fine - no problems at all...just happened overnight!
Still - it's booked in for Wednesday, so it should get sorted then....Any ideas how long I'll be without the car for? Suppose it depends on what they find....

Mine has only ever been in for one day - but then they couldn't find anything. If nothing is wrong, the only other advice is to wait while all the diagnostic lights have gone out (second notch of key turn?) before starting up. This is really hard to do unless you are used to a diesel!!
Don't know if this helps - but somebody has mentioned it previously - it might?!

Sorry, I wouldn't know!
I only drove mine because it had happened before, and there was no fault found after it was transported in. This time I still didn't drive it until I had read some discussions on similar lines - and then rang the dealer telling them that this seems to happen regularly, and some owners are being advised to drive but to monitor it! My dealer agreed that I could drive, and my warranty would still stand.
I would speak to your dealer!

OK- I tried this.....I waited for about 1 min but the light wouldn't go out...so I started the engine - and then the engine diags light went out....went to the shops....If nothing is wrong, the only other advice is to wait while all the diagnostic lights have gone out (second notch of key turn?) before starting up.
When I came back to the car....started the engine - no beeps, no errors on the display and no light....
Hmmm....wonder if it's fixed itself? It's still going to the dealers to get it checked out....
