Okay I may be totally wrong but when I cleaned the car I thought I'd just have a bit of a check on the levels etc.
So after only having a brief fleeting glance at the dealers I thought I'd check out the engine a bit more. There is the main engine bit (I'll use the technical terms here!!) which is a blackish colour yes? Then has another metal bit underneath it, still part of the engine..... are you all still with me here?
Well I always thought metal was supposed to be this kinda shiny silvery colour and not the kind of deep orange textured colour which is the same as you find on old nails in fences.
To cut a long story short my bloody engine looks rusty....... Please someone tell me that it is a protective layer sprayed onto the metal that some arse decided would be a good idea to make it look like rust..... please.....someone.....anyone?
It's about knee height up. Have got a digital camera so I will take a photo of it over the weekend. Can't get to dealer until a week on Saturday due to work which is a pain..... I have the worst luck with cars
I had a mate that worked for JCT 600. As part of his job he got a choice of cars from the showroom.
Well one saturday evening he had the use of a wrangler jeep (open top jeep things). Him and a few mates decided to take it to the coast and cruise along the sea front, which ended up taking it on the beach late in the evening.
Unfortunalty they got it stuck (tide was out) and could not get it out of the sand. Well the tide came in so they had to abandon it and watch as the whole vehicle disp under water, once the tide went out they managed with the help from a crowd to get the car free and drive it back to the garage. Washed down it ended back up on the show stand the next morning.
I seen the jeep the following weekend and it was rusting left right and center. Some poor bloke bought it the following week.
Maybe have a good look under the car to see if it rusting there also.

Okay in better light I'm assured it's the exhaust manifold that is the rusty part..... feel a little better although obviously that still should be as nice and sparkly as the rest of it. I think in the panic I saw the whole car rusty!
So the aluminium engine part of it is fine. Will still take photo and post it probably on Monday night when I'm next back home. And I am still going to dealers with a face like this.......
If its just the exhaust manifold you will get a superficial layer of rust forming cos unlike the engine, its made of steel, nothing to worry about but try not to look too angry when you mention it, otherwise the monkeys are just gonna laugh at you.
My CC is just over a month old and the engine is still silverish but from brand new the rear trailing arms on the rear suspension are coated in a full coat of orangy/brown rust.
I have never heard of a new car having a rusty engine, I also think that you should put it to the man asap as it may be harder the more time passes as they could try to say you had it over salt water or something.
