SLK must be due for replacement soon -- the headlight styling is at odds with the rest of the Mercedes range now. I'm surprised they didn't do a 'tweak' to the styling to bring it in line -- they even did it on the Smart

I like the Brabus CLV12 but I'll set my sights a little more within my budget

Yep, the current SLK is now over 6 years old, the last facelift was in 2000. Considering its age IMO it still looks good and very retro inside. It drives superbly and seems very safe and well built. The new SLK is expected to keep its individuality and sport a front end SLR grill and headlights to the rest of the mercedes range though the back is expected to be very SLish.

I've owned porche, jags etc, sometimes both at once, but I particularly like driving the SLK which IMO gives the combination of class and roadster feel. I considered the new CLK convertable out shortly and the 350 SL which now falls within my price range is fantastic, but its larger and doesn't give the closeted roadster feeling that the SLK gives you.

The new SLK is due out summer 2004 I'm one of the first in the queue, I've now decided to buy either the 3.2 litre or the AMG model. From the latest spy shots this german computer image below is what the new SLK is pretty much expected to look like from the side view.

Robbie.

Not really my cup of tea, but my dad went on one of those "drive lots of cars" days at Bruntingthorpe and reckoned he did the same lap time in the 230SLK as he did in the Scoob
