Windstops

Does anyone have a windstop?

Does it actually make a difference?

Having driven home from Oxford today, I decided that it was a bit chilly with the top down. I want to know whether a windstop will stop the back of your head getting cold!!

Oh no cotswolds - now you've gone and doine it!

Lots of people on here have windstops, and they mainly seem to think they are really good.

Lots of us dont, and we mainly seem to think they look naff and are overpriced

I think they are all a bit namby pamby

But i do have to concede that nearly everyone i have spoken to that has one, thinks they are very useful

So it all depends on your budget, and what you like the look of really

I dont feel the cold much, and think its fine if i have my jacket on to have the roof down as low as 4C, although i only tend to have it down if its bright.

Well this is why I was asking before parting with my hard earned cash!

I just find that at high speed I am getting a fair amount of buffeting to the back of my head, which is obviously cold (and messes up the hair!).

I really need someone that has been in a cc with and without the windstop, to see if it does make a siginificant difference or not!

Funny - i dont have any problems with the wind messing up MY hair! Still, depends how fast you drive cotswolds - i dont tend to go much above 95 with the roof down

Well I have hair that reaches the middle of my back- which is fine apart from when it decides to strangle / blind you (much better tied back!!)

Not generally going above 95mph, but still enough to freeze the back of me!

I have the same problem and wondered if a wond stop would be useful but have heard conflicting points of view.

I end up looking like Bridget Jones in that scene when I get out of the car!!

Michelle- even with my hair tied back I had interesting tendrils after my 45min journey!!!

How much? INFINITE!

I used to get freeeeezing cold with the wind catching the back of my head. I'd have neck and shoulder ache (wot a wuss).

But with my magic wand stop (Michelle

), it's just perfect.

The next time we toddle over to Paul's for shopping, we'll give you a shout so you can try it.

I honestly say hand on heart that I couldn't drive mine without it now

Well let me know Pauline- although I would give the outlet village a miss until it has recovered from half term!!

Would be excellent to try one before you buy, although sounds like I definitely need one!

Michelle- from riding etc- I am always amazed at how much hair escapes from hats, no matter how hard you try!

I wouldn't be without mine - it's brilliant. On the freeway with the roof down windows up there's not turbulence at all in the cabin. Best thing was my windstop was thrown in for free when I bought the car!
