I think you meant the following:

"An avatar," Lyndon. Did you do English GCSE?

Absolutely. :D

If you're going to point out someone's spelling or grammatical mistakes, it's always best not to make them yourself. :P

:P
Or even, "An Avatar, Lyndon. Didn't you take GCSE English?" based on the fact that Erm was insinuating that Lyndon hadn't, rather than asking if he had! :D

No THAT'S being pedantic! :P

Or even, "An Avatar, Lyndon. Didn't you take GCSE English?"
Incorrect. You meant the following:

"'An Avatar,' Lyndon. Didn't you take GCSE English?"

It's a bugger keeping track of all the quotes, but it must be done if you're really being pedantic. ;)

I must bow down to the grammar god, Alex!

However, i am not sure about the quotation marks next to the opening apostrophe which give you a "' (Tripple ') situation ;)

It's not an apostrophe. It's a single quote mark and used when quoting within a quote. They just happen to be the same character. ;)

Would someone please tell me at what point correct english grammar beacame obligatory for posting on this forum?

Would everyone please note the above sentence is a question and therefore correctly ends in a question mark. I would like to highlight for the general benefit of all the following grammatical errors in the previous postings.

Questions without a question mark.

Single word sentences.

Paragraph commenced with a conjunction.

The use of miniscule for the personal pronoun.

Lyndon is a proper noun and should start with a capital.

"did u do english GCSE" should eilther be "Did you do GCSE English" or or "Did you do a English GCSE".

The words "bugger", bold type, capitals and abreviations should not be used in polite written English.

"pedantic git" is not a full sentence.

I hope that helps to clarify matters for everyone.

Questtions without a question mark.

Single word sentances.

pedantic git is not a full sentance.
1. There is only one 't' in "Questions"

2. The subjects correct given name is 'Lyndon'

3. "shouldld" is quite clearly, nonsense.

4. Sentences should start with a capital letter i.e. Pedantic git is not a...etc
